Ride my age in miles! (65)

Hi all, and a belated HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hope you're all doing great and staying healthy, fit and safe.

I turned 65 in January and decided to try to ride my age in miles on my unicycle. First attempt ended at mile 22 due to a sudden and scary blowout at 12mph! The wheel stopped immediately, but I kept going...and going, landing on the hard pavement. Turned out the tire was a tad stretched to fit the rim properly. After installing a new tire I tried again a week later. Here is the video of my 65 mile adventure:

Nice.

Questions:
What's your average speed?
Can you ride out of the saddle?
What's the wheel diameter?

That's some crazy geezer activity. Do you also ride up in PV on those things?

Jeff

Sure do, at least twice per week. Favorite route starts at the corner of Paso del mar & Anchovy, then I ride up through friendship park, continuing to Ganado, and go up to intersect with Crest, then up to the end, and then back.

Happy Belated 65th Birthday, Terry !!

I enjoyed your creative video shooting techniques and humorous edits which made it a really fun ride for all of us to enjoy. Especially those of us who woke up to single digit temperatures this morning and could vicariously take in the warm Venice beach cruising today :-)

I am definitely two tired to ride my age in miles on a unicycle, even if I only turned 61 in January, not 65.

The OP has inspired me, however, to set a goal of doing a metric "ride my age" on a unicycle. I'm not sure if I can ride 61 meters on a unicycle, but it's a goal.

Wow, that's pretty impressive, especially considering you're using a 22-24 inch fixed gear.

I turned 65 January 30th and went for a ride. Only did 32 miles because it was 24*F and that doesn't include the wind chill.

Actually, it's a 36 inch wheel, unless you were referring to someone else.
