Another what is it worth-1985 Olmo, Campy, 9.5 of 10
No pics but common size 56 beautiful off white paint pantographed cranks etc. Thanks in advance. Owner can’t find serial number I figure it’s on BB.

in 1985 pantographed Campag could mean Triomphe or it could mean Super Record big difference in value... you will receive little meaningful help without photos ------ |
Pretty sure the size on these was 55.

I believe that this is the bike in question.

There is a real mix of parts here. Record RD and Victory/Triomphe crank with its unusual BCD. Don't know the hubs or brake set.

I'd say crankset, brakes and hubs are Victory.
Not worth even half the asking price i.m.o. those were entry level framesets. Ælle or even Ælle tretubi. |

Not near as good of bike as the OS Waterford that you were looking at! As stated above, frame not even close in quality, nor are the components. I very much doubt that he will come down to $650 either, looking at his original asking price. It is a pretty bike though, and I like the wheels better on this one.

Crankset is Gran Sport Road 116mm BCD and will take a 35t inner chainring. In good shape they are quite collectable as brand and period correct while offering lower gearing.
Hubs also Gran Sport, as are the brakes most likely. Nothing on the listed bicycle is Victory. Rear changer is Nuovo Record. I’m a long way from the US C&V market although well aware of its downturn. There will be some bicycles that are less subject to the general downturn. I suspect this could be one of them given its condition and parts. Personally I think USD600-700 would be a steal and USD800-900 a fair price for what looks like 9.5/10 at the digital image. Subject to inspection… |
This is why I’m here and many others. Keep from overpaying. That said I’m getting a feel for the market. Thanks for those succinct responses. I definitely need to improve on my ability to decipher different campagnolo levels in pictures.
Ive got seller to $950, I’m a player at $800. Don’t think there will be a deal. And yes, I think it was Tim who said the ‘91 Waterford is a better ride. Agree 100%. Both sellers above market and feel I made strong but reasonable offers. |
