Day off. Rain, early meeting, negative TSB. Works for me.

Annihilated my max 20min pb today. 4hrs in absurd amounts of wind featuring surprise hail and a sunny denouement. |
if i were strictly following the trainerroad sweet spot base program, today would be a scheduled day off, but my TSB has been positive since Nov 22, I need some volume and it's not terrible out there.

Doing 4 days or so totally off the bike starting today. Drinking beer. More than usual, I mean. Hell yeah offseason. 2016 starts in ten days or so. In the meantime, I guess I should put together a stretching and core strength routine. Any suggestions on resources?

Recovery week over with a somewhat slow and unmotivated commute. Estimated 110-120 TSS

4 more.

A bit better workout today. Group ride + climb, 3.25 hours 250 TSS!
Felt good. Hit a solid 5' number chasing down mattm's break, and finally won a group sprint for only the second time ever (not counting track). And I didn't even break 1000. |
Hilly group ride and then 20 tack on miles afterward. 70 miles, 320 TSS, 4:15.

Openers today. FTP test tomorrow. I'm hoping for 20min around 260w. Previous test had me at 243w.
|
last cross race of the season and my shifter cable snapped on lap one. sigh. time to dive head first into road training.
|
3hrs mid z2 today. Ended up 10w under my target, wanted it to be 200w+. After staying out too late w the gf last night and drinking too much, I decided it was best to take it easy, although the legs were ready for more. Hit a solid 4' climb near the end at 118%, so that's cool.
tmrrw: 5.5-6hrs, prob my biggest ride of the year, capping off a 15hr week. |
90 mins, 3x20 sweet spot (90-90-92% respectively), it was a little tough given that I chose to do a big ride yesterday instead of rest. but I hit my numbers
|
Tomorrow is 4 more hours, again. Oddly enough my legs feel OK, but there are other seemingly random body parts that do not.
|
Rode around on the fixed gear for an hour. Swung by SacCX to see the last few laps of the day and chat with some friends.

Alpine and 280

11 hours, 700 TSS
tough week at the office |
Wooo!! FTP test: 266w (up from previous test of 243w). The coaching is really paying off ^_^
Rounded out to 2hrs of riding: 138TSS |
3H ride, 3x20 and Endurance the rest of the ride. Had to stop for a flat - probably time to change the rear, it's pretty damn smooth and data says it's been about 3750-4000 miles. 168 TSS
