Got in a good ride with some locals, minus bam, and then took a quick shower and hustled, an hour and a half each way, to pick up a dual run capacitor for the AC system, sliding in just before the store closed. Got back, installed it, and she's up and running. :D

When's the last time you've seen stars like that? Wow!
They must have more in the southern hemisphere. We didn't get that concentration even in the Belizean rainforest. |

Reading the installation instructions for the new weed eater head. It says to soak the lines in water for 12-24 hours prior to use, to improve their effective lifespan. Anybody ever heard of that?
Edit: true to form, the first place I called told me this model has been discontinued, along with its parts. But he would be happy to sell me a newer model for $400. The part I bought turns out to be universal, across all models. Guess who won't see any future business from me. |

I was talking to my cousin's husband a couple years back- they're about 12 or so years older than me. They'd recently moved from the big house with a barn they'd lived in for years into an apartment/townhouse in a 55+ community. He was describing all the stuff he found in the barn that he'd accumulated over the years - like a bunch of electric motors that he was "going to fix someday." .

I rarely keep track of total mileage during or for the year. But today I realized I passed the 1,000 mile mark today. Not bad considering I haven’t been riding like normal. I’ll bet at least 3/4 of them have been touring miles. Makes me wonder what other years have been like.

There's not more stars as far as I know. Just I was not anywhere near a built up area and there was low humidity. There is also a bit of sensor noise in photo as my camera is more entry level.
The only time I’ve come close to seeing stars like that was after the first night of Cycle Oregon in 2002. We camped on a cattle ranch in the middle of nowhere in eastern Oregon. The campsite was maybe a mile off the highway. Dry and cold that night. (I woke up with ice on my tent poles.) The ride organizers suggested that, despite the cold, we stick our heads out of our tents to look at the sky. I had to take a leak in the middle of the night and did just that. Amazing. I didn’t want to go back in the tent, but the cold finally got to me. |
Today I discovered that, even with a small Costco run thrown in, I can get to the city, do my errands, and get back home much more quickly and economically on public transportation. With the added bonus that I don't have to drive, or look for parking.
:bday: The public transportation alone is reason enough to live in Mexico. |

Huh? I have that same collection. Though my plan is to rig them up to something, like a drill press perhaps.

My wife also expresses a strong preference not to drive to the extent that I am or can be available to chauffeur her, despite we having bought her a more expensive car and her criticism of my driving. |

Obviously, she expects genejockey to chauffeur her outside that narrow time frame.

No, but I saw a bunch of TdF crashes. The Highlights Reel.
meanwhile, the driver’s car went airborne after flipping over and sliding across the track upside down. He landed in the fence. Walked away with no injuries. |

Just get them self-driving Teslas. Then they’ll leave you sooner and richer (after the lawsuit is over).

Most likely only the "sooner" part. Generally, only the named plaintiff(s) and their counsel get "richer" after a class action lawsuit. The rest get an insignificant sum and/or a voucher for future products to the extent that the defendant does not declare bankruptcy.
You sue Tesla for wrongful death as the surviving spouse (make sure you are really married). You and your lawyer get rich. |
