Which Italian brand question
Looks like I'm having a brain freeze today, can't figure out this Italian brand on a Columbus chromed fork. I know Olmo has a star, but not like this one.

Guerciotti and Viner also used stars. There were probably others. Can't say I've ever seen a star in a wreath before.
|
nope, this combo (star with wreath) is nothing familiar to me! subscribing...

I think it's Olmo - the star has rounded points like Olmo and they were known to include a wreath:

More than usual, too, brazed on in relief star in the center of cut out. I think P!n20 may be onto something. Olmo variations... Stands to reason some never made it in to catalog photos or large scale production. Subscribing too!

Thanks to all of responders. To add a little bit of 'fun' - just unwrapped a frame that i bought with the fork above ( I know I know but there were other bikes involved :) ) and that is a mystery too. I searched the forum and found a topic similar to what i will ask, but never-the-less :
Did not pay much for the frameset, so not expecting much, but fork looked nice and frame colours re interesting too. Chrome on non-drive side on stays is gone a bit, but all sound, no dings or other damage. Any idea anyone? Apologies if images are tad dark, is eve here in UK https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...66ad0a8d2.jpeg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...7c20d42cc.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...4b57d6928.jpeg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...54a2327ed.jpeg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...8a8944d59.jpeg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...48cc02bbd.jpeg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...bc782d16a.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...beb4e71d3.jpeg |
If any wonders what that green gunk is - rust gel :) Oh and some more pics of the fork from OP

I've seen that fork crown embossing on the Italian Vetta brand, so they would appear to be the source for Sorgente. Columbus SLE (aka Ellittco) was a non-round version of SL similar to MiniMax.

Yes tubes are non-round, correct. Thanks for pointing out Vetta, checked their frames and yes dropouts look identical to my frame, so does the bridge and other details. Happy days, now what to do with it......looks like it could be a good ride? |
This may interest the OP and some members. A look side the Vetta frame shop. https://www.marcoramin.com/portfolio...gorized/vetta/
