Well it was half day Friday so it's off to my old playground for some winter fun. The recent storm that dropped 18" of snow earlier in the week also brought out the trail groomers. It makes it a tad more fun on the groomed trails instead of trying to blaze a new trail. So I did one of my old routes that has a lot of climbing, and it's extra fun climbing in the snow. What a fun way to start the weekend.
Spring has sprung for sure, though there's still a lot of snow in my area. The early morning trails are a combination of frozen dirt, crunchy snow, and glare ice. By afternoon it's mud and water. The gravel road I live on and the forest roads are about the same. Time to let things dry up. Always look forward to Spring but kinda' hate to see snow riding end. Fun while it lasted. Good riding!

This was my first winter of riding on snow with a fatbike. I'm generally not a big fan of winter, but this year I was actually sad to see the snow melt. I've been a bike fanatic all of my life, and I really don't know if I've ever had any more fun riding a bike than I did this past winter on a fatbike! It was a total blast! My wife also found that she loved it after I talked her into getting one. Win-win all around!
