Modified '68 Px-10 frameset

Modified '68 Px-10 frameset $159 Shipped to the lower 48 - price is net to me via paypal for venmo (F&F or you pay the fee)

This frame is obviously not original. I bought it back in 2008 or so with bad white paint. it has an unoriginal fork. The year is an estimate.
I had Steve Bilenky add pump pegs, two sets of water bottle bosses, and a light mount on the back of the seat tube. The frame was then sprayed with automotive paint. It's a so/so paint job, and has nicks and runs in it. As you can see there is also a sub par job with a paint pen lining the lugs. I'd expect that could easily be removed.

The frame will fit 700x28 and a little bigger without fenders.

Included with the sale will be the frame, fork, headset, bb and seat post . I will also throw in an NOS looking campy bb cable guide. the BB is french (i have a VO cartridge BB in another thread for sale if you're interested).

Measurements are:
seat tube center of BB to top measures 25"
toptube 23.5" center to center
the rear has been re-spaced to about 130mm.
I will update this with the seat post size. I will actually include this one with it ( https://get.google.com/albumarchive/...QiPE24oiXtVQwC )

the light mount is just a little stub brazed on by Bilenky. I never actually got around to mounting a light to it.

does everyone hate this frame or is it just too expensive?

Feel free to make me an offer.

noglider 07-10-18 12:33 PM

I don't know if it's too expensive, but I like it. Obviously, its too big for me to consider, and that is probably true for most people.

Are you saying most people aren't above average height?

Yes, except in Lake Wobegon.

I am! I have been trying to stay away from here though. Since I started coming here regularly my garage has become overflowing with vintage bikes!

Well, if it's too big for you, he has this one for sale also, that may fit you. https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...ior-racer.html

Just my size. If only I didn't have a backlog of 3 other bikes I need to build up. Good luck with your sale.

Too big. French. A C&V sage once said, referring to French bikes: "Run, don't walk".

Time to get out the hacksaw, turn it into wind chimes, and sell it on Etsy.

I'm going to turn it into a midget racer so that I can have two of those that won't sell.

bump, price drop.

nlerner 06-20-19 10:03 PM

Dang, a Bilenky modified PX-10 for $159 shipped?! That’s an amazing deal though too big for me. Glwts!

-holiday76 03-25-20 05:36 PM

hurry up buy now before someone else does!

nlerner 03-25-20 05:41 PM

That would be an awesome 650B conversion. I'd guess it would fit 38mm tires without modification, maybe even 42mm.

Throw in some elevator shoes and you might just sell the frame. :)

Great frame, great price. GLWS

-holiday76 So cool. While I wish I could have space for a niche bike like a handsome, Bilenky customized, 650b converted Frenchie, it wouldn't even fit me. Any chance you have a receipt or emails for proof of the Bilenky work? Maybe that would push someone over the line. Or, maybe not. Might just be cool to have that.
