Extreme Graveling = omg.....
extreme gravel ride today. took old girl off the nice well groomed trail and single tracked a bit. It was bad idea.
the old rigid drop bar 7 speed heavy steel canti brakes with to much air in tires nearly killed me. not sure how bavk in the day i road this dog off road. my gravel bike is converted 1990's rockadile. i bounced off rock lost my grip and nearly ate it. that being said it was fun. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...bb0757b83e.jpg rockadile. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d1534870a4.jpg sunny day. |
That front brake caliper is a clever way of repurposing an old horseshoe.

That's not a caliper, it's a brake booster. The brakes themselves are centerpull cantis. The booster stiffens the canti posts and fork legs against the torsional flex that happens during braking, making for more power and better modulation.

okay, then, that "brake booster" is a clever way of repurposing an old horseshoe. :)

i road mtb when the new idea of suspension was questioned by many as kooky. when 26x2.0 was huge. when grip shift was the coolest my 1 inch Scott unishock had a 1inch elastomer and was amazing. and expensive. toe clips were all the rave |
