Yes, but I don’t think I can use my insurance for those.

The plane cannot get out of a spin, so the plane has a ballistic parachute. If the pilot gets into a spin the only way to survive is to pull the shoot. IMO this is a piss poor design, and no one ever talks about the person the plane could kill, if the parachute is deployed and the plane lands on a house, a car a school etc.

Good question. The worst part, the amount t of times the parachute is pulled for reasons that it doesn’t need to be pulled. Running out of fuel, pilot got lost, flew into a cloud. It happens more than it should. Instead of being an aviator and flying out of the problem these pilots are electing to pull the parachute not caring for what could be below them. Luckily, as far as I know, no one has been killed by one.

Has anyone used there insurance for glasses and been reimbursed?

I am looking at Roka, and on their website it mentions you can file a claim and get reimbursed by your insurance, just wondering how well this works.

Other than the way-forward front wheel, the plane design looks approximately like many other ones. :foo:

Rudder must not be big enough. When an airplane enters a spin, one wing is stalled more than the other wing. A stable airplane, one can simply let go of the controls and the airplane will exit the spin. The more unstable the airplane, the pilot has to manually break the stalled condition. By applying opposite rudder and forward pressure, the pilot breaks the stall and gets out of the spin. If the surface area of the tail is too small, not enough air is going over the rudder making the rudder essentially useless in that situation.

There is a model airport in the river bottom near here and sometimes I stop on rides and watch them fly. All of the planes I see here are electric. I watched one take off today and it got into the air in just a few feet. It was sitting on the runway and it turned left and was away without taxiing down the runway at all.

Maybe I need to adjust my monitor, but I see no evidence of a river. :foo:

Today is officially the last day of winter. :bday:

It might still rear its ugly head in the north and quasi-north, though. Beware.

Yeah, there's a little weather out on Lake Superior. A bunch of ships are huddled in close to shore in Marquette Bay 'til it blows over.

But, would you want to be in a plane that is spinning and watch the pilot just throw up his hands when letting go of the yoke?

If there's one person who can be counted on to know where the gross weather is, it's you.

I'll let the pilot do what he does, because I haven't yet learned how to fly using the google.

There's a little place in L'Anse offering free rent in a furnished apartment in exchange for handyman services this summer, I'm kinda tempted.
