75 miles. Almost a nice nicehole experience. Waited it out, & the expected happened. Glad I'm not in a hurry like most I see out at a crosswalk.

SpeedyBlueBiker 06-08-23 09:52 PM

Today I got in 102 kilometers, a metric century! However, since I'm back in the US it was just a 63 mile ride.

Eastbound on the north side of I-90 and mainly the south side on the return with a few crossovers

I presume the vehicle also suffered damage

Thanks for posting. Have been interested in doing that ride for a couple of years - your post is enough to get me going. Thanks.

What the heck is a “nice hole” experience, or do I really want to know? Remember this is a family forum.

rsbob 06-08-23 10:08 PM

Went out today with the goal of nailing five fastest times for my age group on Strava segments. Over the 52 miles, I nailed 3, got one second and was stopped mid-way through the 5th by a wildlife crossing which stopped traffic in both directions. 3 out of 5 ain’t bad but I am fried. Tomorrow is recovery.

No time for pics during efforts.

a driver that signals a ped to cross the roadway, & insists that it's assumed safe while there is moving traffic, suggesting otherwise.

Only 41 miles and 5100' of elevation gain on my first "real" ride on my new gravel bike. I used to ridicule the gravel riders, but I'm afraid I might enjoy this more than my main road bike.

Super climbing. Glad you are enjoying your ‘new’ sport. Well done.

Don’t visit the commuting forum since those days are long over. Am familiar with arseholes but now I have another term, but it maybe too ‘nice’. 😉. The thread probably belongs in ‘General’.

Rolled a slightly better [warmer] 35 miles.

You are welcome

Read my response above about the wind. They have plans to chip seal sections of the roadways, if I recall, both north and south of I-90 which would make is a less desirable jaunt. But enjoy it if you do it.

86.9 miles.
was going for 80, but the orange barrel monsters redirected path, thru some sketch areas.
Think I experienced a record distance residential sprinkler head. Had to have an assisted pump to go at least 50'. Nailed me right in the leg & crank. %$#@*@ #&%@#%!

Was going to say something tasteless about if a certain body part mentioned above was not damp at the end of a ride, I didn’t ride hard enough. But I won’t, or almost won’t.

Good mountain bike ride. Isn’t the off road miles equal to twice road miles. :D Anyway 3 laps for 21 miles. The first two set personal records. The third played with my $40 cheapie action camera. Stabilization is not very good but made a few videos for my 85 year old dad who does not ride anymore.

And body is much less sore on a FS bike.

rsbob 06-10-23 08:34 PM

Short but sweat-y. Since I rode up and down the hill 2X, all the climbing was done in about 5.75 miles.

23 unexpected moiiist miles. Weather forecast is all a hoax.

biker128pedal 06-11-23 05:25 PM

Warm, dry and sunny 40 mile road ride. That must equal 20 miles of single track. A little wind to push through from the start.

Work and thunderstorms tomorrow so a rest day.

Feels good to get back on a bike, got in 18 today on the trainer. 10 days ago I decided I was going to go for a jog, decided to take the dog with me, oh look squirrel. I trip over him, fall and hit my head on the sidewalk. Ended up having a slight concussion, was dizzy, felt like I was going to puke. Neighbor of the house I was in front of, saw it, ran out to help, luckily I had not gotten that far, she ran down to my house and got my wife who is a nurse. They both help me up and get me home, and my wife runs me to the mini ER down the road. Said everything looks ok, no bleeding, no swelling, just need to take it easy for a few days. I got on the trainer last Thursday to see how things are going and after 5 mins, really light effort and I got really dizzy. Felt pretty good today, no dizziness or weirdness, so I figure I will continue with the trainer for a few more days and make sure everything continues in a positive way.

I got soaked yesterday but weather did say thunderstorms all day. they were mostly correct unfortunately. I did set out to do at least 80 miles but I bailed early as winds were picking up and miles of puddles were loosing their fun factor.

You Montana folks have been hammered by rain this year.

Sierra_rider 06-13-23 11:56 PM

More riding on the gravel bike. I actually wanted to get the road bike out for a long ride on the passes, but the Ultegra crank has finally bit the dust on that bike.
