Yes. I don't think it's political, though, to observe that too many people nowadays have access to too much information with no training or experience to correctly interpret it.

Yep, couple of years when my kids were in HS. My daughter was an athlete, so I was tied into all the coaches. Had court and field access for the games in our district. Did football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, and marching band. Shooting was fun, but MaxPreps was a PITA. Ended up just putting my stuff on a website, basically giving it away to the players and parents.

Ah, the joys of a bike tour. Yesterday was rain so we did a truncated ride, 36 miles instead of 66 miles. Today is 60° and a cold 16-20 mph wind coming off of Lake Superior. Our 66 miler will certainly be truncated again.
Still more scenic than the couch. :D |

Still more scenic than the couch. :D I have been checking out the forecast for Burlington, VT for Sunday and Monday, when I will be there. Looks decent. Highs of 78 and 69, respectively, Nights in the upper 50s. Chance of rain both days 25%. Tempted to reserve a lean-to just in case. In 2018 it was rainy much of the morning of my second day there, and the wind coming off Lake Champlain was quite cold. |

But 98 miles doesn't count as a century. |

(a) What was the rule about where you could stand? And (b) given (a), where was the best place to shoot when the ball was midfield?
I did it for about a year after the kids graduated, but then stopped. The districts started closing down field access because parents were complaining that parents with big lenses got on the field but they couldn't go on field with their cell phones for pictures. You could still get on, but you had to apply for on-field credential before every game, which made it a real hassle. That coupled with no kids in school took the fun out of it. There were guys shooting for MaxPreps that were doing it to make money. My main thing was just to take pictures of the kids and their classmates for them. There was never any real money in it. This one was from the end zone with either a 300mm or 400mm - https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...2dc1d81ff.jpeg Sideline shot - https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...9d88377f1.jpeg |
