Sidi Bullets and Shimano M520. Absolutely worth the money

solbrothers 04-01-09 06:47 PM

those kind of clipless are good for all around/commute use. I personally find that Look style clipless actually rides better when doing serious training/long rides. I wish I could get some of those type shoes/clips so I could ride around town w/ clipless and still walk into places without changing shoes.

I just bought a Tranz-X bullhorn, a reverse style tektro brake lever, a Pake crank, and some MKS sylvan w/ MKS cages. New build...

MIN 04-01-09 07:16 PM

i went to town this week.

brooks swallow
sidi dominator 5
ultegra 6600 seatpost
hope seatpost clamp
nitto noodle 42cm
Stronglight chainring
pair of michelin pro 3 race
new hoops laced to chris king hubs
shimano touring/mtb shoes
selcof 12cm stem

the name of this thread should be "how did you stimulate the economy today?"

exhumed 04-01-09 07:25 PM

Yeah I've got two bikes. The good one, and the one I ride in the winter. The bike I put the clipless on has to be my daily commuter, my transportation for groceries or lugging things between mine and the girlfriend's house, my bar hopper and the bike I go out and hammer on when I just want to ride. While road cleats would probably have offered some performance upgrade over SPDs, the SPDs are such a huge step above clips and straps that I'm real happy and still have a system that doesn't make my bike inconvenient for any of the other things I need it for.

Can I make a totally unsolicited suggestion? When you wear out your Tektro pads maybe pick up some Kool-Stop salmon brake pads. They're really good.

As for my recent purchase, I just got a Charge Ladle saddle.

I just put it on tonight and, ohhh man, is it comfy. I know that saddles are a personal choice, but i really recommend it if any lady is looking for a saddle. Cheap too!
