Got a bike from my new neighbor. Huffy s-2000 strider. Need help
 

Accquired an old huffy s-2000 strider from my neighbors. I know nothing about bikes, I cut the old rusty and seized chain off, and got the wheels and tires off. What's next??

Does it look like this one? Not the color but features.
Does the wheel rim have size stamped on it somewhere? Steel rims? 26"x1 3/8?
Brakes work?

Always best to do a complete teardown and rebuild (new grease, bearings, etc), if the bike condition is worth it.
And if it fits your body size.

Got tools? Anything bike specific? This from the internet auctioned for $6.00 usd, so not much time or cost should be invested.

I would take it to the bike shop and see what they say before riding it.

Huffy doesn't have a reputation fort making fine quality bikes. Think carefully before you put any money into the bike. You can get a chain online fairly cheaply but if you have to replace tires and other rubber parts like the brake pads (a very good idea!), and grips you are going to spend more money that this bike is worth. To give you another idea how much this is worth, take a look at this offer from a bike co-op in Williamsport PA. They priced a working version of this same bike at $40. https://williamsportbicyclerecycle.o...t/huffy-s2000/. That is a bike in safe condition, not one that probably will need a lot of work. I've thrown away a few bikes given to me to fix up for kids in my scout troop because even at free, they would be no bargain once I spent the money to put them in safe riding condition. If you don't know how to do your own repairs and have the tools you need to do so, just trash this beast.
