The speed limit started at 35 mph and increased up to 55 mph. As I was unpacking my bike I watched car after car going way above the speed limit and a lot of them were half way into the bike lane. I decided to not ride, my bikes to pretty to get mangled by a car.

A lot of the roads there have little-to-no shoulder and high speed limits that are routinely exceeded. I tend to avoid those, unless it's just a short stretch. For as many deer and blind curves as they have, people there drive like *******.

Imagine not only doing it in the first place, but to turn around and do it again a week later. Jeezuz.

I definitely missed it. Seemed to me he was on a bit of a rant.

I did the Microsoft thing -- restart -- and it works now. I guess it's been a while since I've done an actual restart.

why don't you take a run at the KOM at nearby Mount Mitchell

Nope, not in the least. A lot of people don't get his humor, just like a lot of people don't get British humour. If you do get it, though, it's apparent that he's a super chill guy.

Be sure to watch the video so you'll know what mistake not to make on your next Everesting effort.

Having a Heathpack dessert. Deglet noor dates and raw almonds. She would also have home made ice cream and a margarita.

I missed some of it, because I was distracted by the fly.

I thought it was a very serious video shot in front of "The Wattage Cottage."

Phil's not a serious cyclist. He advocates waving to other cyclists even if they have their sock height all wrong, among a number of other unforgivables.

Sounds pretty good. That's the kind of stuff I eat.

I just bought some socks that come at least three inches above my malleoli. Pactimo, no less. I have gone full Fred.

Doing it at 7500 feet is not all that easy, either.

You went full [Fred] man. Never go full [Fred].

I wear short socks in the summertime, sometimes.

I rode sockfree once last week.

Maybe if I double the mileage I've been doing for a number of weeks I could survive it again.

My feet stick to the inside of my shoes, if I don't wear socks. It's kind of annoying.
