The new Velo-Orange one certainly looks promising.

eBikes from Fuji, Specialized, and Benno with step-thru design.

That's just the stuff we sell at my shop.

Just retrieved from storage for conversion.

I did a complete refresh on a Raleigh Technicum Olympic road bike yesterday. Likely retrieved from storage. It cleaned up nicely.

Thank you. I will resist the temptation to solicit more "hots" by posting a 1980s picture of the owner.

This one actually had a very small area of through-and-through rust penetration of the BB shell, which Peter found when he cold-set the rear to 135mm. It was otherwise perfect.

Did she glue her own tubulars?

No she didn't. She was and remains very, perhaps overly, trusting of my manual and mechanical skills.

Wise.

You get extra credit for the sewup holder toestrap under the saddle BTW. Triple points if it's a Christophe.

I'm pretty sure it's not. Certainly not one with the leather-steel-leather sandwich.

Quad points if Campagnolo :)

Don't know if I've ever seen one of those.

Point taken. Department store was a bad choice of phrase.

Is there a modern day analog to the old mixte-style bikes with drop handlebars?

We may have to get a consult from Trainsnorter, but my recollection from the 1980's is that Christophe were the best toestraps (and clips too), not Campy.

Time to cross-post to C&V?

Probably a good idea because it means I don't have to bust out and post a 1980s picture of my own. :p

I would have guessed clinic or toy shop/book store but let's go with your idea.

I used to ride with a lady who had a custom built step-through Waterford with drop bars and high end components. I wish I had a pic to post.

Campy toe straps exist and can be had on eBay. The Campy ones that I remember most were white with blue lettering. The majority of my toe straps were Cinelli or generic. I still have several that I use in the shop, primarily to strap the front wheel to the downtube to keep the front end from flopping around while the bike is in the stand.

Not mass market, that I'm aware of. Soma has the Buena Vista though.

I had a pair of white ones, and one pair that were blue with silver print equipped with these:
