Longtail bike Hybrid?

Since my Radish front frame is dead I started looking for replacement bike to add the back end onto. Anyone do it to a hybrid? I got a beefy Giant Roam pretty cheap and was thinking about useing that. kinda wanna move away from 26' wheels since i own several 29ers and some 700c wheel bikes now and this was last 26' wheel bike.

if anyone has expereince with 700c hybrid longtail and has some info do let me know

My video of my initial build. I have since switched out the suspension fork for a suspension corrected steel rigid fork. Has been running great. Aluminum's stiffness is great with the xtra. It's a fast bike too! Tires are 38. That's as much as you'll fit in the back.

I put a free radical on my trek 7000 hybrid 10 year’s ago and have been riding it semi-regularly ever since. No complaints. Tight fit for the 700c on the original free radical, but I managed to squeeze in fenders and have had no trouble.

just consider wheel load when picking the rear wheel

Un Dished wheel , vs dished cassette, lots of spokes ..

Only issue is the back wheel of a long bike hits hard usaly and theres alot of crappy road out there. I did find a possible candidate to use though. came across a norco Citidal not long ago. its 26' wheels wich is fine but if i wanted to id just change the fork and make it 700c bike. wonder how fat you can go with 700c tires on the xtra kit. Its the old one.
