Regarding the Df4, I guess no change.
There is a lot of old stuff on the list... probably stuff that existed before the new rules just had to be submitted and not specifically ridden in a World Cup. Cervelo T4 and T5 are on there (Hope/lotus same debacle as t5?!) and some pretty standard deda stems and a fabric saddle.

interesting are products, mainly extensions made by ero? Probably custom bent extensions for the Canadians.

I believe Len (Lochmiller) has been working on some bars for ERO (and likely US/CAN pursuit) - likely similar to the Wattshop/etc ones.

the Australian Argon18’s have a narrow fork to match their new Zipp discs, and a massive gusset in the top tube and seat tube with a pocket in it to fit an SRM and Crank info power meter.

The Vision Metron tri spoke wheels have interchangeable hub internals that allow the wheels to be switched front to back. Sounds like a great innovation which allows travel with just one spare wheel.

reason for the 42cm handlebar is that Vision don’t produce a more narrow width with 130mm stem. Although vision 42 measures 40 c-c at the tops (Italian...)

Mavic had interchangeable hubs on the 3G, but I think nobody else toyed with the idea anymore.

yeah, that's a training bike while he's flying Cofidis colors. The 42cm handlebars give it away. In Tokyo I assume he'll be on a Pinarello.

My "Track Cycling Stopwatch for iPad" is now available again. I updated the code to work for iOS 13 which caused crashes. For what it's worth, the app worked fine, but some of the code features I was using were deprecated (no longer supported) in iOS 13. That's what caused the instability for people who upgraded to iOS 13.

I just got the message from Apple that it was approved. If you don't see it in the store now for download, give it an hour or so to be put on servers around the world and made available.

funny you see that about his frame , some also said the same about Vivani s frame on YouTube from the GCN video that it looked like the Holdsworth frame

It just is... it’s a nice frame though. Ordered one for myself (never built it up, because I got a good deal on a cervelo)
just disappointed it’s not a nice Italian handmade frame, what you would expect with the derosa name Tag.

At that price, why make one frame for sprint and pursuit? The reference LOOKs come in sprint and pursuit variants. Both at around $10K each.

At this level of the sport, why are teams settling for this one-frame-for-all approach?

Yes that’s interesting! But also track geometry changed... we see less steep angles and longer wheelbases.

the only difference with the Look T20 speed or TT is the handlebar. Geometry is the same and also weight as far as I can tell.both are made of “very high modulus Carbon”.
The T20 has a lot of similarities to the Argon 18 and with a touch under 8000$ is a bargain (still have to source wheels for through axles)

You are right. The current LOOK bikes have the same geometry*. I wasn't up on the latest offerings. Thanks for the correction.

One neat feature about the new LOOK geometry...they finally have a frame larger than a 56cm TT. Looks like it's 61cm (60.99cm). Nice. Finally. I've been wondering why they haven't done that for years. That's on par with Felt's largest TK.

When LOOK did offer the 2 frames above, I did notice that there were several top pursuit riders who opted for the 596 over the more sprint (or all-around) 496:

I imagine that they chose this frame for the different features offered over the 496.

$18k is a lot, but at least you get two forks, two sets of bars, and a set of wheels.

The new Argon bike also apparently includes an integrated data logger and timing chip. I'm not sure exactly what they mean by "data logger," but Argon a few years ago had developed a system for measuring aero drag on their TT bikes. Maybe that's included?

Argon's system turned into the Notio. I've still got a broken prototype in my garage :(

Well if it works and is included with the bike, that would be a pretty cool addition and helps justify the $18k price tag.

The notio alone is around 950€.

i think with data logger it’s a inbuilt ant+ computer, but without screen. since they use srm, probably the modified srm protocol.

Quarq had something like that, it was able to capture more data packages in a second and was installed behind the seatpost.
Also the FES powermeter works likes this, captures torque and rpm a couple times a second, data needs to be downloaded after the ride.

I should be able to catch a close look at the Argon 18 tomorrow.

I’ll be there too tomorrow, it’ll be super interesting to see all the new tech. I’ll also wonder how the GB squad will react to losing all the HSBC funding after Tokyo.

What Tri-spoke are they running? I'm assuming its not a Zipp. And do you all think Argon is molding the aerobars or is some other company like speedbar or Aerocoach.

That rim depth and layup pattern looks like a Zipp 808. My money would be on it being a Zipp wheel. Note the 6 equal-length panels of carbon fiber around the rim. I've only noticed that on Zipp wheels.

It's hard to see it on images from the web due to the decals, but here is one of my old builds where I took the decals off of my 808s.
