Yikes. Is the pumpkin harvest in danger? It's almost pumpkin spice season.

I think pumpkins are OK unless we get hail. Never saw any hail at my house. Did get 4-1/2" rain in 2 hours. Supposedly, this was just the first wave. Supposed to storm again soon.

We had a storm on Monday and I did see some corn damage on my ride this morning from the high winds.

Went to my go-to LBS this morning. Tuesday is the earliest they could fit me in to slap on new brake pads and a new chain. Pickup on Wednesday. Glad they are busy. Half dozen or more new Kona bikes stacked outside. Some were made in Cambodia. Had no idea.

Wow, cool. Some Marin bikes are from Vietnam, and that was before the new China tariffs.

Probably best.

I snuck out between waves. A lot of roads flooded and power out between my house and the next town over. Back home waiting for the next round.

Just stay in at dusk.

And dawn.

And stay out of the cool, shady areas.

Yeah, that about covers it.

Wow, so I had thought that thread wouldn't unravel my whole left leg of my bike shorts. I was wrong.

I think the best bet is to cut the thread, and not pull it. Unfortunately you never know until it happens.

I use a lot. Non-petrolatum based lip balm doesn't exist here. Petrolatum based lip balm does more harm than good. So I buy beeswax, cocoa butter and coconut oil and make my own.

Seems a good plan.

I'm walking on ground strewn with rocks and ankle-twisting holes. Correction: Attempting to walk. Thus the weed eater, instead of a mower.

Spent two weeks riding in the state while crossing the country. You took your life in your hands getting out of your tent to pee at night. There were even mosquitoes inside the HI Hostel at Lake Itasca. While certain parts on Montana were bad, Minnesota was the worst overall.

This ain't no upstate meadow. This is more rock on the surface than soil. By a wide margin.
Even a machete is useless.

Nothing puts a better crust on. Good looking load o' carbs there, cher collègue.

WhyFi 07-15-20 03:47 PM

That's a braiser. Tisk risk.

Yeah it’s not keto. Not gluten free. But delicious!

Or is it a DO? Can't tell how tall it is/how straight the sides are... :foo:

Mosquitos were used for executions in the gulags. Seriously.

I honestly don’t know but it does not matter. Makes great crusty sourdough. That’s what matters!

MoAlpha 07-15-20 03:56 PM

So, my latest bike part fantasy is getting a Stages/Shimano power meter 8000 crankset and putting the 6800 crank on the Lynskey, which is easy because it's got a threaded BB. However, I'm doubtful there's frame clearance for the strain gauge on the left-side crank arm. Going starboard-only seems like an expensive way to get one-leg power.

DOs are taller/narrower. Braisers are shorter, wider and have flared sides, made for cooking partially submerged cuts. Both are worth having.

I was going to say that I could go all Le Cruset Mogul and post a bunch of sideways pics of my cookware, but I don't have boxes of unused pieces waiting in the wings so not quite the same. :(

Yeah, I'd much, much rather do Quark or P2M before right-side-only.
