The more I think about a titanium frame build, the more expensive the idea becomes. It would be stupid to buy a titanium frame and skimp on the components, after all.

Yeah, pretty sad to put that thing on there just because they couldn't handle the 39T little ring anymore. Maybe they still have the DA in the garage somewhere.

Left 5 mm more than I wanted, but looks pretty good.

Was he more upset with GM or with Nadar?

Reminds me of a guy in the club I used to ride with. He worked at the GM assembly plant here and got laid off when they closed it down. He was so bitter he would rant about how much he hated GM every time I saw him. I'd see him on a ride and OMG I gotta get out of here! A few of us went to the LA Auto Show and we bumped into him there and he started spewing his anti-GM hatred. I just walked away and my friends got the hint after a few minutes.

I guess I could make the argument that $700 for that Litespeed frame would actually be by far the cheapest part of a build, even if I went for the new Ultegra.

Seems like the Jonesing is creeping in.;)

Everyone log off and see if you can pull yourselves together for when I return.

I loaded up the Benno for some productive activities outside of rjones28 World Headquarters. It was not soggy.

NadEr, not NadAr.

I'm only picky about this because Nadar is the name of my company. In Spanish, the word "nadar" means "to swim". We build swimming pools... https://www.nadarinc.com/projects

Decades ago we used to get phone calls from people asking to talk to Ralph Nader.

Don't you have some softball game films to break down?

One speed is all you need.

Hey, I've had to hang bikes on fences, turn them upside down, etc. when fixing flats. Would have been really handy to have a bikestand then, provided I didn't have to carry it.

Oops. Thought it was Nadar. You know where Sherman Oaks is? I worked at the Chevron station on Van Nuys and Ventura, Sherman Oaks Chevron.
People would call and ask to speak to Mr. Oaks.
