Gonna try out the electric gloves, although at 34F probably not a fair test.

My homies are driving to gravel this a.m. Me ‘n another guy is waiting for warmth and will venture forth on the pavement at 1200.

I learned this weekend that if you're not vexed, foam fingers will stick to your back.

If I weren't such an abject weakling, I'd go graveling.

There was a little excitement at our hotel last night, as we were heading to dinner.

Keep us posted.

Just finished a week's worth of dishes, while listening to Modern Times. Also just finished a largish breakfast. As such I will shoot for 9. High of 87 today; partly cloudy. Generally a pleasant day for riding for hours.

I don't like it. We have Boulder Roubaix, that's half dirt roads, half pavement, and it's very unnerving. The race gets hard and fast on the dirt sections, and I compare it to racing a crit in the dark. All one can see is the wheel ahead, and you better hope he takes a nice line.

I know what you mean.

My main issue is lack of raw horsepower on that high-attrition surface. I have only ridden with these guys on a flat tow path where my weight doesn’t count, and might do better in the hills. I’d love to go out there and just enjoy the scenery and the quiet, though.

Yes. Christiana Hilton.

It was still standing when we returned from our outing.

Doesn't get it.

I bought a gravel bike two years ago and took it on a couple gravel rides that are local race courses. Most of our gravel is like riding on marbles and some of it is pretty big. All I could think of when I was riding was that if I fall, it's going to hurt, like really hurt.

I sold the bike.

Out the door

bampilot06 11-28-21 09:16 AM

45 this morning and it felt colder than yesterday when it was 25.

Knee started hurting around mile 20. I thought I was going to have to call for a pick up but then it stopped hurting. Strange but went with it.

Tried a different wind breaker this morning. All of my jackets suck.

New cockpit comes this week :)

bampilot06 11-28-21 09:27 AM

i used to want a gravel bike really bad, specifically the aspero. I just don’t think I would use it much. A mountain bike would make more sense.

I have occasionally had my right knee start to bother me, but turning my foot a degree or two one way or the other and it stopped. Always the right leg.

Oh, I ran over a squirrel today with my front wheel. I gave up on dodging them several months ago. Today on this particular section of trail they were all over the place and they kept running right in front of me. One was not lucky. He didn’t get back up after I hit him.

I think the wife got me one for Christmas. Will have to suffer until then.

One of mine is warm but it’s so loose, it acts like a giant sail.

Not a fan of clear, what’s good about this one?
