1.25 hours of Bush trimming activity achieved eating and coffee consumption in progress. Bill paying and bank reconciliation about to commence. I may take a shower first as I'm pretty rank right now.

Still no lab results from last Friday. I guess they need more than a week to accomplish this. I'm now 5 pounds under normal riding weight but that's because my legs are puny sticks. Wasting away. Poco a poco for seeds.

Measured this morning. Hour on the trainer = .33gallons of sweat. 3mile/25min run: .24gallons of sweat.

Happy B-Day Mrs and Mr. Seeds, respectively!

I was just thinking, yesterday or the day before, about what a really great album that is..And HH is right up there. Guinevere.

There's only a few CSNY songs I like, this is one of them.

I was 13 years old and remember clearly the first time I heard that album. I was amazed! These days it sounds pretty rough to my adult ears, but it clearly has moments of genius.

Hot again here so some friends drove up the coast a bit to ride but I didn't feel like spending 3+ hours in a car. Also none of the club rides sounded fun so I rode from home by myself. Started before 7:00 because I was up anyway and was done before it hit 100 degrees. Did a loop that was an old stand-by for years. Ride with gps says 48 miles and 3660 feet. Drank 6 large bottles and felt pretty good.

On the last climb I stopped in the shade and sat on the guard rail and a guy on roller blades came by doing 30-35 mph. It drops 600+ feet in 2.6 miles, if you're going that way. He had full leathers with pads and a full face helmet and a follow car. After I got back on the climb they passed me in the car and then he flew by on the blades again. By the time I got to the top they were just getting there for another descent. A few years ago a kid I worked with was skateboarding there and hit a small rock and fell off. He was not wearing any gear and came to work with some impressive road rash.

We’re up in the Wisconsin north woods for the week, starting in Rhinelander.

Sounds better than here. Supposed to be in the 90s starting Monday lasting until at least Saturday.

I've been wondering about this steady overcast we've had, for about a week now. Turns out it's a dust cloud from the Sahara.

It’s so humid here, both weekend rides were sweatfests. I got drenched.

Probably not as humid here, but my bike clothes were so wet when I picked them off the floor it was as if I had gone swimming in them (almost).

BTW, this is a Hodag sculpture she is standing in front of. It’s a Northwoods mythical creature. The sculptures are common around Rhinelander.
