who is that guy?

he was sitting in the stands at ADT last Thursday while i was training

rensho3 03-29-16 01:06 PM

I don't know his name, but he is always at VSC when something is going on. He has also gotten event directors to present his bicycle the audience at some point in the program. I knew his name before last July, but it is now one of those things laying on the surface of the Giordana velo. I do remember, however, he is a very nice guy. As I recall, it took a couple of years to bedazzle the bike, as he was a VSC do it when I was training on Monday and Wednesdays.

Whatever, man. Next you are gonna say that the Easter Bunny isn't real. Hell, we JUST had Easter last week. Are you gonna tell me last week didn't happen??

I wish they would have waited a day to announce this so I'd know it wasn't an april fools joke.

An interesting take on doping in sport:

Record Attempt Day Under the Colorado Springs Velodrome Dome

I know at least two cyclists aiming to beat national records.

This is awesome.

Interesting that they are holding this in May. I would imagine that this early in the season, people wouldn't be in top form.

I understand that riders wanted to attempt records before the dome comes down a week or so later.

I doubt it.

It's either a budget 5-spoke or a bad photoshop...or both.

Ha! I still think the first one you posted is fake. Look at the hub.

It was the hub that made me think it was fake. The hub on the 2nd photo (from the Mavic site) looks like what I'd expect. Mavic is proud of their hubs.

carleton 04-08-16 10:55 AM

So, I think the first one might still be a replica.

Banchad 04-08-16 11:45 AM

The new graphic looks awful.

I never seen a Mavic IO, so I don't know how it looks like.
but i think that instagram io picture is the left side.
So you cannot see the FANCY mavic hub

It would be the same on both sides.

Well, hopefully it'll be removable like the previous logo stickers.

I never understood why. There are much better hubs out there. Their hubs always seemed frail to me. It's the one place where I think that they can really improve their wheels.

New Dixieflyer track frame!!

taras0000 04-16-16 01:49 AM

Not new. Just new sizes that weren't available before. Maybe Carleton will get one if the TT is long enough.

I would have a couple of years ago. But, I'm done now.

Plus, these still aren't available yet.

Quinn8it 04-16-16 07:48 PM

The Dixie flyer is a great bike! It's good that they are adding these new sizes, because the current largest size has a 58cm TT and due to the Seat tube angle- it's got Reach and Stack like a 57 DF3 or similar.
Bobby got a lot right with the DF BTB (Bobby the Bullet), but my favorite was the use of a standard Seat Post and Collar.. As Carleton will agree the Post is a big source of frustration for us bigger guys and being able to use a standard post and a quickly replaceable collar is awesome.
I didn't think much about the post being 31.8, but in the end that was a big bonus as well..
I change my saddle/post every time I put on Aero Bars- so that's 2 changes per track day. The 31.8 post allowed me to put a light weight seat collar directly on the post to designate height for quick saddle changes..
Also since all Handlebars are 31.8 it made it really easy to mount your computer under the saddle with a Barfly or standard SRM mount..

grav.digr 04-16-16 09:04 PM

DF seatposts are 31.6 (just to clear up the typo above)
