Sorry dude glad it wasnít worse.

Face repairs. My bike is fine. My issue is minor compared to your day.

I canít sit still. Once she was surrounded by family I went to the garage to work out some frustration.
I decided to tear the c2 apart and put it back together. I didnít take every single piece off but the wheels, forks, bars, pedals, handle bars, stem all came off. Gave the frame, fork, wheels and chain a deep scrub. Cleaned the head tube out really well and re packed with grease. Put the ritchey stem back on to increase its reach, Torqued everything to spec. Head set play was gone. But attached is a picture of my top head set bearings. There is some markings on the side of it. Bike rode like new. All the noises it was making are gone. Brake rub is still there but I didnít really attempt to tackle that. Heart wasnít into it.

Don't let anyone tell you to shortchange the grieving process.

So sorry to hear :(

FWIW, as long as that top bearing still spins smoothly everything is fine. Assuming that the bearing is still smooth, cleaning and re-greasing the bearing seats and bearings will go a long way in prolonging their life.

4 Degrees out- Iíll be riding in the garage today.

My little wax experiment went okay- I listened to the instructions and ended up with way too much wax on the outside of the chain, and it skipped a little bit on a couple of climbs. I had a hell of a time getting the quick link to engage.

Oh and, the paint looks amazing in the sunlight

If you're ever inclined to think that medical researchers are starting to figure things out, watching a video like this will quickly cure you of that idea.

It might be too soon for me to celebrate but I'll risk it.
The blower control on the hvac system in the firebird had 3 off positions of varying amounts of off, and one hurricane setting. Translation, all the blower settings except full blast did not work. So it's been all or nothing for a couple years. This is normally due to a bad blower motor resistor. The resistor itself is unobtainable. No one has it or makes them anymore and used are too much to even consider. It is also a true bastard to get to. So, I decided to poke around at it last night in the hopes I could fabricoble one together from available parts
because I've never actually seen the part or it's location and there are no pictures of it online I did research for a couple days. Found a description, vague, but enough to get me headed in the correct direction. I was able to find a hand drawn sketch of the part. It's like a normal one with an attached pigtail about 12 inches long. I started removing pieces to gain access. Center console, dash trim, Radio, etc. I was able to get my hands on the plug and unplug it. But it goes trough a slit in the carpet and then under the the hvac box and dissappear from sight. There is one fastener in it, acourding to GM but you can't see it. it was getting late. I was tired and decided to call it enough. I found it, I know how to get to it, good enough for now. So I reassembled everything. My plan is to get a standard style resistor, solder the leads on to the new one and cut a hole for it into the box in some non factory location. Enjoy multi speed hot and cold air flow.
I got in and turned the key this morning to go to work. IT WORKS PROPPERLY NOW. I have all 4 speeds.

Last night the cops shot a man in the thigh a couple of blocks from my house after he fired shots into an old man bar and would not put down his gun.

So many nuts these days. I am getting closer to moving to a cabin in the woods.

Does that mean you will have to trade your road bike in for a MTB?!?
