Is this tyre toast?

What PSI was he running?
I imagine somewhere between 80 and 120.

Asking for a friend. |
I have put patches inside tires in the past, but that is quite the tear. Toast.
Try filling the gap with JB Weld and sand it down. Then spread vulcanizing fluid over the wound and let the chemicals do the rest. Inflate to 120 PSI and go for a gravel ride.
I think you need to spread some butter on in and take a bite to be sure.
If he had been running tubeless gators, this never would have happened.
I’ve heard some things about tubeless tyres. Are they like run flats on cars? Are the fast?

Sad.
If it makes you feel better, we are all to fat for this sport. Feels good to get that off my chest. |
sure isn't a waffle. I'd grab a side of orange marmalade preserve for some toast.

Toast, no of course not. It is junk.
I'm guessing the sidewall will be ruined once you pull the red thing out.
It's Toast... Man!!! |
Pretty sure that will buff right out. But seriously did you need to ask?

Worst part is that the flat was a pinch flat at 120 psi (inflated that afternoon) like how do you even manage to get a pinch flat on rear tire at that pressure, It wasn't even that thin 25mm. I was carrying a bunch of groceries so bike+rider+groceries was more than 300 lbs, but still thats so ridiculous. Do I really have to go over the spec to not get a pinch flat? The snakebike on the tube doesn't lie I know what a pinch flat looks like. I literally just fixed that road bike, and it flats on the same evening. There are two race bikes in my basement leftover from one of the cofounders of Bleacher Report. He used to live here, bought two bikes and never rode them, they have been down there for over a year. He is off in some motel doing drugs with a prostitute, or atleast that's what my housemates say (its a dysfunctional sober living house where people are all using.) I took it out for a spin because I think my road bike is cursed and don't want to ride it anymore, the frame says its a 47 cm and it feels like a kids bike but im going to take it to the best shop in the area and see if they can adjust it to fit me, I normally ride a 58-62. Honestly I dont even think its a 47 thats so small lol, its a sticker maybe someone put it there ironically? idk. This really happened no exaggerations here |
