The fixed cup, dropout screws, and headset came off the Ironman this morning. I will leave the pressed in cups.
and the chainstay protector.

Managed to get in the "Recovery Ride Number One" from Zwift Academy last night after dinner. I figured since it's a recovery ride, the Haluski I'd had for dinner was in no danger of making a reappearance, and I was correct. Bacon, onions, noodles, and cabbage. What's not to like?

It was pretty boring. Basically, almost everyone disappeared up the road within the fires few minutes, and I ended up riding the entire way with another rider who was going pretty much the exact speed I wanted to go, which worked out well. But I couldn't help noticing that even while he was leading and I was drafting him, his w/kg was LOWER. I went through all the camera views, and I think at least part of it was he was on a Canyon Aeroad, and I was on an Ultimate, and the Aeroad is just more aero. But also, he might have been shorter. Height does make a significant difference, as I discovered that time I accidentally made myself a fat hobbit.

Still it's not charging.....

All I can say is that I'm glad that I don't have any employees other than me and the Mrs.

AZ governor tried that, but all the school districts were like "whatever".

Some of the school districts are saying whatever as well.

This goes beyond and hits every private employer. Under federal law, employers can mandate vaccines as a condition of employment.

I guess the next thing is to outlaw drug tests for employees. After all, you should have the freedom to put what you want in your body no matter how it impacts others.

I saw something that I've never seen before, and it took my wife to explain it to me. I received an email from a west coast lawyer that had a signature along the lines of (not her real name): Mary A. Smith (she/hers/her).

Color me old.

Maybe your wife could explain it to me.

Where have you been?

datlas 10-12-21 09:44 AM

We are coming to DC for 2 days for the wedding and I just learned that our AirBnB is appropriately near the Atlas District.

However, since we will have a full car it's unlikely there will be cycling involved.

Apparently under a rock.

I understand the whole alphabet soup stuff, but just didn't know you are now supposed to state your preferred pronoun in your business email or letterhead signature.

Wow, I've never seen that in an email sig either. Only on Twitter. I did hear a news story that one of the employment social medias had just added a field for pronouns. Probably LinkedIn, but I forget.

I wouldn't need the little lady to explain it to me because I've been on the Twitter though. :)

I guess it's gone on here for so long, it's nothing new.

Mojo31 10-12-21 10:08 AM

I'm not on the Twitter or much other social media. I follow my kids and wife on FB and Instagram, but that's pretty much it. I just keep learning something new every day.

My wife's initial response to me asking her was along the lines of, "I thought you were progressive enough to know that."

Seemingly not - just an old dolt.

But what does it mean, what does that signature mean? I come up blank no matter how long I study it.

I'm good, thanks.

I understand the gender preference issues, and have no problem with people doing what they want to do. I just had not seen that following a business signature. it just caught my attention. I didn't make any judgments.

It's the pronouns you're supposed to use when talking to/about her.

She went to the store.
That stapler is hers.
Would you make a copy of the sales report for her?

My wife explained that it informs people that she identifies as a female, and demonstrates support for the LGBTQIA+ community.

It's become fashionable and/or woke for people to include their "pronoun" on listings of attendees at meetings, on name-tags, and signatures etc. to be gender inclusive/aware.

datlas 10-12-21 10:29 AM

My name is datlas and my pronoun is he/him.

So it's saying "I'm female" or is it saying "I'm straight female"?

If one is lesbian are different pronouns used?

Are only women doing it? Cause I haven't gotten any new memos lately.
