Velo Vol You’ll be happy to know that I rode by several pumpkin fields and they look pretty good. I even posted a pic on my Strava activity today. Some fields are just starting to blossom and then the pumpkins will begin to grow. First harvest will begin in September.

Glad I check my tires before every ride - I just pulled a shard of glass out of the rear. May just swap them this weekend; the rear is getting squared off.
Or maybe I'll see how long they can go. There's certainly plenty left on the wear indicators. |

95F on the lawn today.
I was thinking how in winter we have five straight days of clouds (how does water even evaporate when it's 40F?). But when Velo Vol is mowing in July, the sun goes into cook mode and we don't have a cloud to cover it for hours. I don't get it. #ThatsAShame |

I didn't know that either. Street view from 2014 has an "Available" sign out front, so Lemond must've moved in after that.
It's tucked in behind the ORNL carbon fibre lab. I like how the LeMond facility has more security than ORNL. Big ol' fence around it and a guard shack at the gate! https://goo.gl/maps/ASHnyyimn57rFdra8 |

Why are they so small? Because it was cold until June?

Is it possible they wicked up a bunch of oil at some point? I've never seen a bike on fire from a brake issue, but that's 'cause I'm only a teenager.
Very possible! I was surprised as well. They did perform quite well on my ride tonight - probably the best in a while. So I guess I'll just see if they glaze over again. |

The stickum is gone. Alas. I can prolly come up with something to stick it on with |
Tonight was pretty lovely. Wife made a tomato pie and we spent a lot of time out on our balcony.
Comet NEOWISE is also quite pretty through binoculars. Pie: https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...bd12600894.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...b2ddddb8e4.jpg |

I'm on track for more than that, but a lot hinges on Sunday. Family stuff means that I can't get in a proper ride on Saturday, so I'll need cooperative weather and familial disposition on Sunday.

That text "FOR EMERGENCY USE ONLY" might suggest it's a get-you-home solution, not for long-term as you were asking earlier.

I think the street is a little wet, but I don't feel like checking. |
