There's a beautiful sunset there tonight.

And the Sox are holding on to their lead so far... /spoiler

I haven't. I always found it easy enough.

Ask a gal out, she says no.

Re: word vomit or verbal diarrhea, I call it verbal piñata. You break the seal, the words have to come out. It’s much like… was it Luis? in Ant-Man described as “you put the coin in the jukebox, you gotta let the song play”.

I had kind of the opposite issue. I also couldn't read social cues, but instead of creeping girls out, I'd completely miss that they were interested in me. Mrs.GeneJockey got around it by being pretty obvious.

Yes, and it's no fun.

Camping at the Four Seasons is great any season of year.

I'm old school. Caesars was always a treat.

No etymology?

It got into the single digits out here, but I slept like a baby.

I usually sleep better without a tent, assuming no bugs.

I think I'd just get a room for $120 at the nearby BnB.

Just that little. You can see it in the Spanish “campo” and other Romance languages. A military encampment is a base in the field. So… that was the argument I was making that a rural hotel counts.

Ask me about “strand” when I’m back home with a keyboard though…

Ah, iPad typo. Should have been “card for alcohol”. Both of us have been carded on this trip.

IKR. When I spent some time in Cortez after a tour I constantly got carded at age 35. One senior working at a grocery store, when she looked at my ID, said “Oh my. You’re the same age as my daughter.”

Our local grocery store has a 100% proofing policy. So, I always have my ID out when there's beer in the cart. The last trip was different though. They wanted Mrs. rjones28's ID too -- that's new. She didn't have it, but the kid let us slide.

In Texas they damn near don’t care. They used to ask me if I was 21, and that worked for them because the sting operation kids can’t lie about their age. And even so they haven’t even asked since I was 34 or so. And I don’t look especially old.

My daughter called me last night. She was just hired as a teacher. Something she has been wanting since high school. Preschool which is "her dream". I'm damn proud of that girl o mine. For having 2 fairly troubled parents she turned out quite well.

Congrats to her!

We had a discussion like that this morning. Our daughter is being courted by several firms, and has multiple offers on the table. I told the wife that I never had that type of action/opportunity. She laughed and said that she hadn't either.

It's good to see your kids succeed.
