We buried it to get rid of the slackers. It was good, they were off the back, then the kids lapped us. Of course, the stragglers rested and waited for the kids, then integrated. When they caught us, we had been working far harder than them, but still knew what the scoop was. So, I fought hard to get in the middle of the pack, as did everyone else. This was a .9 mile course that went up then down, and just before the up is a 110 degree corner. There was a fight every lap for that corner in order maintain momentum. Lots of yelling. No one died.

So much humidity. My base layer looks salty, but that's next level.

My penance: 6x2', 2' rest, 130% 6x1' full gas, 1' rest, 30" full gas, 1' rest. Go pedal real easy for 20 minutes and do it again.

I messed around with that a little before the cable change. A cable was loose, and I couldn't figure out how to tighten it.
I don't. But people here insist on posting about it. So I give them something good to discuss, instead of meaningless MLB games.

Drop it to the lowest gear, loosen the pinch bolt, pull the cable taut, and tighten the pinch bolt. It's not rocket surgery.

I couldn't pull the cable and tighten the bolt at the same time.

Bon appetite. BillyD loves crab, but not enough to work so hard to salvage those slim slivers of meat.

Softshells. No work involved to eat. Like you, I have no patience for hard shell crabs. Way too much work.

Really? Because if you have two hands, you can pull the cable with one while tightening the bolt with the other.

Hence, Dungeness crabs.

Alternatively, if blue crabs are cheap enough, you just sit down with a cracker, a pick, and a ramekin of melted butter with a little lemon juice at a table covered in newspaper, with a beer at hand, and just keep working at them.

The Older Boy, back at work as Meat Boy, purchased some lamb chops, and cooked them for dinner tonight, with mashed P and asparagus. Mrs. GeneJockey won't eat lamb, so I got 3 chops. He did a very nice job of it, too!
