Not really scoffing at the hand wash, more just surprised at the way they said clean it with special equipment. They did value the paint at $50K.
If I had a nice car I would clean it more than once per year. When I was working I could wash my cars there. They had DI water and every product you could think of. If I helped one of the porters with their car they would clean mine for me.

I wouldn't know. If it's crappy enough out there to have a dirty truck, I'm not going fast. If it's nice, so are our trucks. They're not Porsche fast, but they're definitely faster than a lot of trucksters out there.

L'Anse Bay ice report. Man, it sure is tempting to go up there this summer, but work in exchange for rent just doesn't sound like that good of a deal, unless it's just like 10 hours a week of work.

Typing that made this pop in my head all of the sudden. I spent a couple of years in the early '90s in a subterranean tavern in NW Portland where this was on HEAVY rotation on the jukebox. I've probably listened to it more times than the Beatles version.
