Could try this swap in a Scirocco

Did something unusual and took a vacation day off today. I just got back from a ride.

Cycling >> work, in case anyone was wondering.

How much do the others ride with the groups? I've only ever seen Lisa and I feel like she's got all of the QOMs on lock-down.

I'm having a hard time believing that both kids will be in school in a few weeks - that'll be a big change in my stay-at-home-mom employment. I think that I may take a couple of "vacation" weeks and get in some miles before settling in to my new schedule of... something. :foo:

No school yet? They started this week out here. Back when I was in school (ancient history) we started in September.

We ALWAYS started the Wednesday after Labor Day but I think it’s generally earlier now. I think the kids here go back a week from Monday, so late August.

Just drove past the new Tesla plant. Thing is huge. To give an idea, we were moving along in the mid to upper 80s.

They typically ride with my coach, they do a lot of the afternoon rides. Lately all of them including Lisa have been getting QOM almost every ride. It’s kind of insane.

Yup, it's still after Labor Day for us. We can't have kids in school during the State Fair, can we?

We're surrounded by schools. Elementary school on our block, middle school across the Alameda de las Pulgas, and high school on the next block. They all seem to be starting on different dates. This AM when I was taking The Older Boy to work before 8, kids were already headed for the middle school, and traffic generally was much heavier than it's been. It's possible TOB and I might have to start earlier, which would suck. He started at this place in May, and didn't settle into the 8-5 shift until June, so we missed the congestion last year.

Personally, I think starting school before 8:30 is uncivilized.

Absolutely not.

NYS Fair starts next week. Ends on Labor Day.

The South Mountain Fair, which I think served the same function as a county fair for the Northern part of Adams County, seemed to always coincide with the start of school, though nowadays it seems to have been moved to July. It was a mile North of the little town I lived in. A big deal for us locals - it was there that I first rode on a ferris wheel, and the Merry Mixer, and had cotton candy. The big events at the Fairgrounds were in Spring (Apple Blossom Festival) and Fall (Apple Harvest Festival) which drew big crowds and caused what we in Arendtsville thought of as "traffic jams."

Yes. '07 is the Mk V. Fingers crossed that our issues are minimal.

I drove RHD for the Post Office for 20 years. Got used to it pretty quickly. For the first month or two I hit a lot of curbs when I got into my own car.

The MN State Fair is a Big Deal. It is, or at least was, the second largest state fair in the country, with ~200k visitors per day and a couple million per year.

Should have had it at 3.

But I'm sure that our State Fair fatties will give your State Fair fatties a run for their money. :o

Just got back from the doctor's office. I lucked out and got 'vacation doc'. The one who actually listens, and actually measures, and doesn't automatically know. My BP today was 100/60. With the normal doc its 120/80, because that's normal for a man my age. Same with pulse rate. 56 today, and 80 normally, because. Such a treat to get vacation doc once per year. I keep hoping......
