First, weigh less.

Yes, I have found that this helps quite a bit.

Zwifted for almost two hours, since the AQI is "Moderate". Now the garage is all swampy and smells like Old Man Sweat.

Apparently self-medicating with ivermectin has the positive effect of proving Darwin right: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/a-...Hoa?li=BBnbfcL

He didn’t love his family enough to wear a mask.

I weigh less than @datlas, most days, and get my clock cleaned routinely by fattish men, uphill and down. Most of them are younger, though, and the guys my age, all of whom can kick my ass without breathing hard, are all pretty thin.

Easy for you to say.

Illinois starts back to indoor masking on Monday. My mayor says he won’t enforce it. He has a history of ignoring health regulations in favor of business profits.

You should probably move to Texas.

Dead customers are great for business!

Goes along with picking the right parents.

If sightlines are clear, I have zero issues going through a red light if it's clear of traffic.

I won't just blow through lights or stop signs though. The only moving violation I've ever received was on my bike when I cruised through a stop sign without any indication of slowing. In my defense, it was an all-way stop with clear sightlines for a few hundred yards, but I still got pulled over.

I did that one 5 years ago. It was indeed hot.

At mile 80 or so there was a large metal tank filled with ice water that some folks were cooling off in. Also medical stations all along the route treating people for heat exhaustion or heat stroke. They actually close down the 100 mile route after a certain amount of time after the start and route stragglers to a 70 mile finish.

It can be pretty brutal for sure.

Went to middle & high school in a small town just north of Wichita Falls, where the long route passes through.

If there wasn't anyone for a few hundred yards, who pulled you over?

Perception =/= reality a lot of the time.

"Jay Vine, who almost upset the favorites back on Stage 12, puts in another amazing performance to get 3rd on the stage. He is by far the most successful winner of the Zwift Challenge, which is how he landed his first pro contract at 25-years-old and is a great find for Alpecin-Fenix."

The one time I got a warning from the police (not stopping at a stop sign), the policeman was behind me. Oof.

MoAlpha 08-28-21 06:19 PM

I got a warning for crossing at a red, with no traffic in sight and after a long wait for a camera which wasn’t picking me up. The cop said I should have dismounted and pressed the button for the ped Xing. Now I check behind me for cops before running reds.

Did you tell him you're a serious cyclist?

If you have to go press a button to get a green light, I'd call that a malfunctioning signal.
