Good ride today. We had 15 riders to start. I asked the gang to please split into two groups roughly 50/50. It did not happen. After the first major hill, one of the riders said her hip/leg was bothering her, so I stayed back with her. A few miles later, the grandfather of the group (77) got shot out the back, so I pulled these two until the rest stop. The lead group was just leaving as we arrived, I recruited one more sweeper, so the 4 of us finished the ride at a civilized pace. The difference in (ugh) average speed between the two groups was about 2MPH.
Weather started off chilly but sunny and it warmed up nicely. |

Now in Flemington NJ visiting the folks. My dad turns 88 in 4 days but we are celebrating early since daughter #2 is home. :bday:

I rode with my ride buddy, Mrs. T, today, and I even managed to keep up. :bday:
It was so windy she had a hard time staying on the road and had to keep catching up. My fat butt had no problem staying anchored to the road. :) |

Yup. My friends always want me to join them for the Hell of Hunterdon. Roads have similar vibe to my own Chester county.
Fun fact: Hunterdon is one of the wealthiest counties in the country. It got as high as 4th. Last I checked it had dropped to something like 8th. Lots of NY/N. Jersey lawyer and financial biz money thanks to the building of I-78, which is slowly ruining the rural/agrarian nature. |

When I put it together years ago, I put a smidge of Carbon paste/prep on the CF seatpost, and it did not slip or seize at all over the years. I am inclined to repeat this process, but I did an internet and BF search and it seems there is no consensus on what prep (if any) to put on CF seatpost going into a Ti frame. I expect that means there is no perfect choice and it probably does not really matter. Thoughts? |
