They should have a leaderboard for altitude. I could win that one pretty much every week.

Or does the week end at midnight in Turkey? What's that, about 2pm?

5pm eastern during DST. 4 pm eastern during EST, because his exultantness decided it was “unnecessary” several years ago. :notamused:

most probably his microscopic brain couldn’t handle the change.

Peel and freeze them for smoothies

I have 85 or 86 miles in the chamber I could upload, but not worth the effort for bronze.

A lovely stretch of gravel today. I'm gonna hit that one more frequently. Now that I can self-identitify as a gravel rider. This might be as closely in sync with current trends as I have ever been.

So yeah, I'm not really sitting in the red as much as it looks like - I'm doing moderate efforts in the green, and it says I'm good to train, which dips me back in to the red for the remainder of the day. :foo:

Threw my salt encrusted gloves from yesterday in the wash and forgot to take a clean pair in the car today and I was slipping all over the bars. I like to put my palms on the hoods to stretch out but that wouldn't work. I was even slipping in the drops.

How many feet per year? When I was working and sort of keeping track I did at least 300K feet per year in about 6K miles. A friend did at least 600K every year for at least 15 years. He did it in about 8K miles. He was always slow and physical problems have caught up to him so I don't think he tries for that anymore.

I know 2 guys who have done 1 Million feet in a year. One of them was going to try for 2 million but said it became like a job and he started hating it.

I do aim for close to 100 feet/mile. Strava tells me I have 335k feet and 5K miles so far this year.

Aren't you old to be re-identifying?

It's like someone playing the trumpet for forty years and then one day waking up and saying, "You know, the flugelhorn sounds better."

Fresh sourdough in the oven. Should be cool enough for dinner.

Since cutting my finger off, I woke up and decided to try woodworking without power tools. I have parked my power tools and am having at it. Have you considered the clarinet? The oboe?

datlas 07-26-20 01:19 PM

Hey indyfabz a cyclist I follow did a “Ride of Silence” today in Philly and mentioned 4 cyclists killed this month. Do you know if that’s true? Sad!

Not as the primary instrument.

Heidi has a really good oboe and has not touched it all summer. I can probably work out a good deal for you if interested in a high quality oboe.

Sad.

I like the oboe, but I have no reason to think I'd be very good at playing one. My mind/finger coordination barely cuts it with a three-finger instrument.

A massive swarm of jelly fish have just taken over the beach. Will update you all when I have more details.

big john 07-26-20 02:07 PM

Love the piano on this oboe piece.

Yes. It’s all yours. I mean your friend’s.

Thanks! In the back of my mind, I thought that I might be able to hit 1k for the month - something I haven't done before. Looks like the month ends on Friday, though, so I don't think it's realistic without at least one more weekend day. Sad!

Yeah 1k in a month is a high bar. I am expecting 800 miles for the month. Still, not too shabby!

That won't make the sun rise earlier. Besides, 5:30 is already teetering on the edge of sanity with two young kids.

LesterOfPuppets 07-26-20 02:20 PM

Did someone make cycling caps for the 41?

Is an actual 41er riding the 3 Peaks Bike Race?
