Bike content: No riding today which is sad because a snowstorm is coming in tonight and sure to screw up road riding for a few days.

He was stabbed, and nonetheless went in for food instead of seeking medical care?

Yes. The story is even more bizzare. He can be seen on store cameras going outside a couple of times to check on his wound while he's waiting for his food.

My guess is that the stab wound looked superficial on the surface but he was bleeding relatively badly internally. (I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.)

There was a shooting outside the same Wawa a couple of months ago.

It’s a warmer 22F here. Getting ready to ride. It’s perfect weather for the battery-heated gloves.

Had six last night, I think. The membership is still fluid.

Surprised by this result.

Not true. It is a risk with some viruses, including a fairly common "stomach flu" virus and, to an as yet unclear degree, COVID. Recommendation is a week or two before return to exercise and this is a guess. Just take it easy and stop if you start feeling bad.

High winds. Much drifting of snow. Time for another cup of coffee.

Has anyone ever had a bad heartburn flair up while riding?

On my weekend ride, a few miles in, I was experiencing minor lung discomfort, within the bounds of normal for not having ridding in 2+ weeks. Then, suddenly, going up a hill I had a strong burning sensation in my chest. Things normalized after a bit, and the rest of the ride was uneventful.

But at times over the last few days, I've had more discomfort. I'm assuming for now it's my GI tract. I guess take antacids and see if it goes away?

I've had some acid reflux issues in the past, but no problems recently. It had been well over an hour since I ate. Kind of mysterious to have a sudden attack like that.

I consume Tums daily, sometimes just because.
Heartburn wise, it's usually something that comes in the night
