Well.. it comes from the proceeds, but I’m technically the one paying it since I probably could have knocked about that much off of the sale price without a realtor.

Yeah, I just wasn't sure if the seller was expecting to keep all of their asking price (and you'd essentially be paying additional to the realtor) or if the seller had agreed to the realtor taking a cut. FSBO people are weird sometimes.

If you're in Ithaca, you need to go find Taughannock Falls. And take the rim trail that goes around the top of the gorge. You can thank me later.

The falls themselves are about 215 feet, and the rim trail takes you way above THAT. Spectacular!

I really miss Ithaca sometimes. Spent two years there after college, deciding graduate school wasn't my cup of tea.

Are these falls far away from the university? We stay at hotel ithaca, so the falls we went to today we’re about 1.5 mile walk.

8 miles north on Rt 89. There is - or was - a restaurant nearby. I can't vouch for it, since I left Ithaca in 1982. All the restaurants I knew are gone!

Velo Vol hydration notice: the newest Everesting champion removed the water bottle cages from his Tarmac to save weight.

He also chopped off the drops. Who needs 'em when you're stem is slammed like that?!?

I think we went over this before, but it's from "The Song of Hiawatha" see cut/paste below

"All the wild-fowl sang them to him,
In the moorlands and the fen-lands,
In the melancholy marshes;
Chetowaik, the plover, sang them,
Mahng, the loon, the wild-goose, Wawa,
The blue heron, the Shuh-shuh-gah,
And the grouse, the Mushkodasa!"

I removed one of mine, too. Actually it broke off.

He also only needed three gears. A lesson for us all.

I went there in 2001, it was decent.

How did he descend safely without disk brakes?

Not much need for bottles when you have to do it as out-and-backs.

I guess if you're getting handups. Of course it was done in Ireland where you can get plenty of hydration out of the air by osmosis :)

Yes, it's so refreshing, now that I have disc brakes, not to have to call for a car to come and take me back down after a climb.
