Just a nostalgic interest. My grandparents had a GM car of that year, or close. It wasn't as roomy/luxurious, nor did it have the beautiful "wood" paneling, though. Fancy.
It did have A/C. Very modern compared to our Sharpsville car with no A/C. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...3c9b657964.png |

I used to love fins, but now I prefer mid 40s to the early 50s. I should've bought one of these in the 80s...

You can't fully appreciate '80s cars unless you consider the rusting, 12-mpg benchmobiles that preceded them.

The first new car I ever bought was an 80s car.

https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...87f8aa0568.png this was my best friends first car back in 04. I was super jealous. It was his sisters first car before his. My first car was a 98 rodeo. It does not have a five star crash rating. |
Club has a 60 mile ride with a long climb that I like. Don't know if I'll feel up to it. There's also a century and 3 other rides but it's supposed to be over 100. We'll see in the a.m.

My 70s era car that I actually drove in the 70s and 80s. IIRC, fuel consumption in the 20+ mpg range. No rust.

In a funk again. Three weeks ago I was all about all the miles. Then last week, weather, fatigue hindered my ride time. This week I am rested, but all motivation seems too be gone. Today around mile 20 I didn’t want to be on my bike anymore. Over all my body just feels weak. Not sure, what’s that about.
Was suppose to go to the blue ridge parkway tomorrow but the wife has to work in the afternoon, so I’m going to do the only logical thing I can think of. CENTURY of the CENTURY. I don’t have high expectations. |
Billy, someone posted this pic on the internet. That is one scary bird.

My first car, bought new when I was in grad school, was a 1981 Civic 1500DX. The discs warped, the engine pinged, the exhaust system rotted off, and then LSS, who had only suffered for a year or so in that legal capacity, turtled it on Storrow Dr. in Boston. We crawled out and and bought a 1986 Golf GTI the same day.

The Metro was a rebadged Suzuki, IIRC. |
Speaking of the Geo Prizm, I wish one of the hot hatchbacks would show up for cheap, but you don't see many.
