Do you have a quasi-direct bike route to downtown where you don't face imminent death?

Stuck on this for a while.

Maybe people were happy Brady wasn't going to be there.

Is that semi-circle portion a closet on the inside?

We did our part by skipping it. Not enough to move the needle, obv.

All the Rams fans tuning in.

Yes. I can ride both to the local downtown and to Our Nation's Capital, easily and (by US standards) safely.

No, just quarter-cylinder bit of wall. It needs to be there for space inside, but the curve is very mid-century and I like it.

Had my physical yesterday. 45 resting heart rate got the nurse all worked up. I am 12 pounds lighter than last year.

Since we haven't watched one in decades, the only way we could move the needle would be to watch it.

You mean, she thought it was a BAD thing?

Kudos. Do NOT let them tell you that you need a pacemaker. Just say no.

Probably. A low heart rate can be a sign of heart block or a dysfunctional sinus node. In a non-athlete, that can be a problem that is typically solved with a pacemaker. In an endurance athlete it's a non-issue, of course.

That hadn't crossed my mind but it's got to be partially responsible.

I walked an average of 15 miles a day as a mailman. My heart rate was in the 40's. Went to the cardiologist when my daughter heard my heart "skip" a beat. They said my, in my words, electrical system wasn't functioning correctly and gave me a pacemaker. Worse thing that ever happened to my cycling. Now my heart reacts almost opposite of my needs. Speeds up sometimes for nothing, and if I'm really riding hard, starts to slow down. I've finally come to terms with it and just ride my bike for enjoyment by myself.

edit: Well, maybe not the worst thing. I had a mild Covid case when it came out, and lost half my strength and endurance and it never came back.

My strength and endurance were hit quite hard by my mild case of covid. I do hope it comes back eventually. I'm only two weeks out from the cessation of symptoms. Trying to rride 15ish km per day, for now.

For a long time, I just rode around and didn't really push it. Recently I did the whole Tour de Zwift and there was a notable increase in my fitness as shown by Zwift's FTP calculation. I suppose I just need to try harder to get my fitness back. Could be Covid or maybe just getting old.

I have sinus bradycardia and will likewise confuse my nurse this afternoon. She'll probably check my HR twice. :)

That's good to know, since my RHR is in the low 40s.
