We are considering moving out of suburbia and into town, but given all the uncertainty will probably sit tight. At 2300 square feet it’s more house than we need, but it’s paid off and now very familiar. And if we end up staying long term, it’s all on one floor living which as you know makes sense as we age.

Before the rental I live in now, I was in a rental for 16 years. When I moved in there the landlord, who was a friend from my teens and lived in the house next to the rental, told me if I paid rent on time he would sell me the house cheap when he retired. I liked living there even though it was pretty run down. It was quiet all the time and the neighbors were cool. Eventually he started drinking so much he couldn't work and finally passed away from it. His sister inherited the house and wouldn't help me with the price. She kicked us out and sold the place. I was lucky to find the rental we live in now but I'd rather be there. Rents here are ridiculous.

In the last 8 years I have moved 7 times. Card board boxes give me nightmares.

I see what you did there.
I'd steer clear too, that's a horny bunch, you might get a broke back. :innocent:

Packing is coming along nicely. One nice thing about touring in hot/humid weather, which I try to avoid, is that the clothes packing list is much shorter.

Yeah, the one-level thing is a big consideration, although it was much more of a consideration for us before long-suffering spouse addressed her joint issues with a ketogenic diet and began skipping about like a spring lamb. We downsized from about 3900 feet of living space to 2200 in town and the increase in quality of life has been amazing. Daughter loved the walk to the Metro. Better access to good cycling too.

I think there is a riding naked thread in case you need some tips on how to really pack light.

No intervals. Didn't even record it, since ebike rides don't count.

Didn't post it to Strava, so who's to say that it even happened. :innocent:

The economy officially entered recession in February.

So I'm pretty blown away right now. And not in a good way.

Wife had been working at a flower shop pre-COVID, but when everything was shut down she went back to being a nanny.

That gig is probably going to be winding down here fairly soon, and an ex-coworker from aforementioned flower shop clued her in on an opening in the office of the law firm she currently works at. Wife applied, and has an interview scheduled for this afternoon.

She wasn't really planning on going back to the floral shop once things opened up anyways since she constantly experienced being promised things that never happened, really miserable pay, and 40-50 hour work weeks. She was really great at that job but it was just soul sucking, so this looks like a great opportunity - decent pay, regular hours, weekends off, etc.

Turns out the owner of the flower shop found out that my wife has an interview at this law firm, and over the weekend stopped by to tell the person who was going to interview her not to hire her because she's going to come back to work at the flower shop. Which is an absolute lie. She never discussed going back to work there.

What. The. Actual. ****

That's a pretty dooshy thing to do.

LAJ 06-29-20 06:39 PM

People are dooshy. Not all people, but it seems there are enough to make a difference.

I notice a theme there.

I really want a “brace” of new bottles, matching ones that aren’t dirty and white with rubbed off graphics.

I've been meaning to pick up new bottles for a while. Today, I finally remembered to do it.
