I see. I started riding motorcycles in the dirt in around 1980 and sold my last dirt bike around 1991. Started riding fully rigid mountain bikes around 92, I think, but always mostly a road rider. I went to a front suspension, then a better suspension, then a full suspension bike in 1998. Now thinking about a "gravel" bike seems like regressing. No suspension, smaller tires, and less capable than my mtb has me concerned. I have joined a gravel ride with my mtb and it's a disadvantage on smooth climbs and road sections, for sure. Around here there are dirt roads which can be linked with road sections. Group rides with no cars sounds pretty appealing. I have better photos at home.

How many miles were you on it? Looks a little washboardy. When we went across country in 1990 we did a few dirt roads. I had a Nishiki Seral touring bike with 32s at the start but had to buy a 28 on the road because that's what I could get when the rear tire wore through. The dirt roads were not planned but weren't a problem.

Nice looking bike! The black R8000 kit works with Ti. This week I'm going to spend the evenings tearing down/building up the Litespeed with R8000. For now, I'm sticking with the 7410 crank. I'm planning to get an R8000 one, but I haven't decided between 52/36 and 53/39. SO I'm going to see how I like 53/39 x 11-32, compared to the 52/36 x 11-34 on the Canyon.
