Another possible hour record challenge in April?
Decision on Campenaerts' Hour Record attempt to be made on Friday | Cyclingnews.com

Campenaert's has a pretty good shot at it in Aguas. That said, even at the "magic track" it's going to be a bit more than just showing up and collecting the record. Wiggins ride was very good, better than most of us thought.
Michael Hutchinson suggested if he did set it in Aguas that it would mean the record could then only be set at altitude... and he seemed to get peeved with me that I suggested the record had already moved to altitude or bust.

marginal gains podcast (show 2) had a good section on rolling resistance, and they delved into optimal pressure on the track (particularly Major Taylor) and even about epoxy'ing tyres on rims at big events.

Poppit 02-15-19 03:16 PM

Looks like a 64 to me

Is John Archibald's (post 2360) using a missing link chain connector?
I've never seen this type connector used.

Poppit 02-16-19 01:01 AM

Apparently 64x15=115”

Godsight 02-16-19 06:50 AM

The chain look like a KMC X101 which come standard in it's box with a missing quick link.

Just recently bought a KMC K710 and it also came with a missing link instead of the old moto style link.

With a nickname like that, you've gotta have a big crank.

Latest interview with Huub. What’s stopping a trade team forming in the USA, sprint or pursuit?

Godsight 02-16-19 05:49 PM

Only money to get the riders at WC stop I would guess. Most big track country now have trade team they use as filler team for the national squad.

If I understand the process correctly, individuals on trade teams can gather points that can be transferred to the National teams when called to join. So, stacking the field with trade and National teams increases the chances that the National squad can qualify for any event at Worlds or the Olympics. Beat, KGF, Wattbike, Landrover and Sky (from years ago), are all examples.

They're standard with a number of chains these days. I've had them on SRAM and KMC chains and been using them for maybe 7yrs now. If you change/break chains a lot they can get sloppy, but they're cheap to replace. I find them a lot less fiddly to break also, just using a set of the pliers and bingo

These bikes have been in the hands of the riders for a while now but I haven't seen anything yet outside of the riders' personal IG posts.

From a distance they resemble a carbon version of the Nitto ABD-X:

Baby Puke 02-23-19 04:37 PM

S1neo sprint bars. They might come in narrower versions but this is what Brooks are selling.
