33km at lunch today. Got caught in a downpour about halfway, so came home pretty much drenched. At least I was riding my bike with the Brooks C15 all weather saddle and not the one with the B17 leather saddle. 😁

After getting drenched during yesterday's ride, at least Mother Nature took pity on me today - it rained on the south end of the my route when I was at the north end, then the rain at the south end stopped for long enough for me to get home before it started pouring again. Pretty much perfect timing today. |
yday...32-spot. today...31-spot. at least they were in different mountain areas of socal.

A bit soggy today. |
Road 42.5 miles in a loop from home in a little over 2-1/2 hours. Started out 94 F. Hit two rain showers while out. Temperature dropped into the seventies. Felt chillie. Good ride the rain was not hard. When I got home I flipped my Domane upside down and water drained out of the seat tube and the rear disc brake caliper area. There is a drain hole under the bottom bracket but there is a piece of thin plastic on the Inside over the hole. Too new so I’ll have to visit the shop.
Did ride about a half mile of gravel and dirt with the 25mmF/28mmR tire set up. Not bad but the wider 32mm tires may do better. |

104 Miles O.D.

42, which seems to be about my sweet spot these days.

22.7 and 1,040. Air finally cleared. I really did not appreciate having to chew the air when I went out for the mail!

what does "OD" refer to in this thread? Out Doors? Olympic Distance? On the Dot?
unfortunately no time this weekend for a big ride  21.59mi and 1,339' this AM. |
40 Miles-
I’d been off the bike for a month thanks to a bout of sciatica. However, 2 back-to-back 10 mile “spins” (the first with my 10 year old son and the second with my wife) convinced me that I can still put in miles while walking with a cane.
So last Sunday, I rode 40 miles out and back on the Foothills Trail between Puyallup and Buckley, WA with Forum member, Jeff Rumbold. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...31fe50a91.jpeg Jeff rode his Medici and I rode my S-Works Tarmac. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c8a331e08.jpeg Almost at the end of the line in downtown Buckley. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...59778e3ea.jpeg Downhill for over a mile on the way back to Puyallup! |
Nice 32 mile ride out through Matthews Va. I procrastinated some and missed the rain showers.
|
My birthday was Friday, and today I rode my age.

End of week 1 with my first road bike, did 26 miles, mostly flat, avg 16.5 mph. Not breaking any records (besides my own) but getting faster and used to the bike/position. After today's ride I'm thinking I need a shorter stem.
|
27.5 and 1350' yesterday morning. Had to end early since the wife had to work, but should have gotten out of bed sooner. Rode without speed info for the first time, paying attention to power output. One of my best rides I have had in a long time by doing so.
