21 flattish miles at 18.6 MPH with a nasty headwind and threatening showers on the return trip. Worked my butt-off and just got a little wet, sweat aside.
And it was indoors. Not. (No time for pictures with rain showers all around me) |
What seemed to be a nice day early on, became crappy and raining as I was getting off work, so instead of taking a ride on the Domane to get a long ride with the new handlebars, I decided to install the new bars I bought for my Emonda and then take a ride on Rouvy. 45 miles and 3100 ft of elevation gain. Weather is supposed to be perfect tomorrow , clear sunny skies in the 60's, and winds less than 10 out of the North.

no kidding on the poor weather. seems as soon as the roads are "rideable" a random snowatropocalypse blows in, & then the cancer trucks puts trip hazard amounts of "icy road treatment" all over the place. The cycle just is never ending.
I'll roll in the somewhat cold, but slick, salted, poorly maintained roads & nutty drivers are too much to deal with. |

what a weenie whiner. :D ;) I, OTOH, would never attempt to ride if half of the nasty conditions you do because I am the real weenie whiner!
won't be mountain climbs at that temp tho. def some foothill climbs if called for. okay with the hott stuff. |
Got in 55 today, the sky was beautifully blue and no clouds, temps started in low 60's, I was actually cold at first, but it warmed up to 75 and the winds were light, but steady. My legs definitively felt the climbing I did last night, as they were a bit sluggish today.
Took a pic looking over the intercoastal as I was heading toward a park at the beach. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...7eabc20a85.jpg |

mashed 31 miles in the breezy 28F somewhat clear weather. used the degrading cygolite 1400 & cygolite 350 one last time before I put the magicshine 1500 & cateye 450 on full-time duty... wanted to get the RN3000, but it wasnt available when the 1500 was acquired. Will keep the old equipment for the 'just in case' times in need.

40 miles and nice clear sunny day started about 32F and finished 36 or 37F. no real wind for the first 20 and caught a tail wind for the second 20 can't ask for more than that.
|
I rode 29 miles today. My first ride back in the USA since I got back. A bit of a shock going from the 90's to around 60 degrees. I was bundled up like the Michelin tire man lol,

45.5 miles, 1500’, 17.5 ave speed, 22 achievements. Beautiful pre-spring day and man are my legs sore. Over did it a bit - or a lot.

Rain all day Saturday, so I was regulated to indoor activities. Did 3 routes on Rouvy, 2 flat, 1 mountain. 63 miles, 3K ft of climbing. I spent the time watching the race today, so it was like I was there......but much slower and crappy 4 wall scenery.

Tough headwinds for much of today's ride. Combined with not bringing enough food with me, had to make an emergency pit-stop at a KFC at the 115km mark to get enough energy to make it home. Definitely need to carry more food with me next time. |
28-spot. first foray since feb 13th. gotta get back into the groove.
|
Sprung for a 31 mile spring'ish like weather ride. going to try getting those miles in, now that temps are looking to stay above 32effffff. Now, about that wind & moiiistness.....

35 miles today. 60F and sunny.
|
Up my driveway and back :(. Fixed up the bottom bracket on my commuter and wanted to test it but the snow is just too deep here still in most places.
|
Rod my age
I rode a fer piece today on my 67th birthday, 67 miles.
|
Lots of extra programming hours this week, so I did several Rouvy rides. Ended the weeks at 133 miles and 9.2K of altitude gain.
|
Been on the TraX trainer during the week. Work too gets in the way. Fixed up fencing today then a road ride. Road 33 miles with a warm 70 F. Now a mountain bike ride for tomorrow.
