No riding in the pacific northWET. You'd need a boat anchor to keep the bike from flying away! But (fingers remain crossed), I did not lose power. But I did run the gauntlet yesterday trying to get my booster shot. Traffic lights completely out and not even blinking. Road to hospital had four sizeable trees down that someone chained saw one lane passage through. Car with tree bashed in front end. And vaccination by cellphone light and flashlight as the hospital (fairly large) was running on generators.

33.6 on my lunch break, 1,500 climbing, turned off motor for dead weight/training ballast.

After doing two days of hard Zwifting both 20 miles with 2000’ climbing each day, the weather temporarily cleared and went out an did 15 miles in strong winds. Was absolutely thrashed from Zwift. Tried doing a hill climb and after 200 feet, turned around and headed home, tail between my legs.

40 Miles O.D. 18 MPH head winds that brought some slick debris blasting at the face.

My very standard gray day ride at this time of year. At least it was not raining. Leif would have felt very much at home today - cool, very gray and very windy.

And a bit east of Seattle…. Rode 32 with 2000’ up (no down ;)

20-spot before work. fire weather: 82 degrees with ultra-low humidity.
|
44 Miles O.D. achieved just as temps started to dip into the mid-high 30s. Low wind speeds at least.

52+ K yesterday, the wind was remarkable ..... up to 40 km/h .
Today it's raining buckets at the valley bottom and snowing big time up at the XC skiing venue. Saw a big group of our junior skiers out on roller skis the past few days. As I was cycling past I told them to keep the snow dance routine going; ;) ;) |
NOTHING in the past couple of days - Chicago's been rainy and windy, genuinely my nightmare conditions short of snow, I don't know how y'all are able to power through!
|
I'm with ya! Admittedly though....I want to ride a little....sigh...

Been off the bike for 2 weeks after my wife had an emergency medical issue, basically living at the hospital. Happy to report 100% recovery and the future is bright to have no further issues. It was nice to get back on the bike today, although could have done without the 15 mph shifting winds. One of the toughest 35 mile rides I have done in a long time. Temps were absolutely perfect, mid 60's and bright blue skies.
|
Glad to hear it!

The rain finally stopped! 23 miles today.. sunny and about 60 degrees F. Very nice. People on the trails wearing costumes and a costume party at a trail stop/restaurant along the state trail.

Cooling off. Road 47 miles in New Kent County. Some of their half century ride.

Yesterday about 23 and 1,110 feet - same old, same old. Very chilly and a strong headwind from the north which made the zigzag route tougher and getting home rough!
|
the trick: 87 Miles O.D.
the treat: hot coffee & a warm meal. |
70 Miles I.D. oooophf

32 miles with 2000’ climbing with some light rain at times.

50 miles yesterday. Great fall day. |
My standard 21 mile ride around the block. About 500 feet of climbing but here closer to the coast we have wind. I wonder how one can convert wind to climb.
|
40 miles and 2000’ climbing with 20 mins of heavy rain.
|
I know this is not the "go to ride" thread but in fact that is what it turns out to be, especially at this time of year.
15.3 and about 900 feet. Dip my mental toes into always frigid Puget Sound. This was between rain systems. Made it home with about 15 minutes to spare before the skies opened up yet again. But you can also see what I have been also doing between rain and wind storms. Allowed ten extras during Nov and I also smuggled another four into neighbor's piles! Still leaving another three stockpiled in the garage for next week. My house is always for sale in the Fall!!!!! https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...88dc3e1438.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...0f5646c458.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...5497938822.jpg |
weather sucked hard today, cold, rain, and high winds as the low pressure came through, so I was stuck on the trainer. Pulled up a movie on Netflix and did 80 miles.
