Out for Ice Cream
I got in 60 miles on Saturday. The weather gave us a glimpse of spring and got up to 57°. I was able to switch to shorts 1/2 way throughout the ride. It felt great. So great, I felt I deserved some cilantro-lime ice cream at Owowcow. It was great.

10 miles on some intermediate trails. Bike and I took a pounding today.

Longest ride to date 41.2 Miles. On the Trek.
I've been riding 3.7 miles 3-5 days a week to work on my Schwinn Classic Cruiser. The goal is to double the total on the Trek on weekends. I went 22.2 miles this week. so that means I need to go 44.4 miles on the Trek. So only need to add a few more miles tomorrow. If I get a rain free week I should get 37 miles in on the Schwinn. going to be bit tougher then. |
34.5 miles today, and the first week in months I have ridden 5 days in a row.
|
Waterfall ride
28 miles. Half flat, half hills. Some gravel/dirt mostly street. Try to ride this route at least once a week. 15.3 avg speed, 1800 feet elevation change. One killer grade, the rest is rolling hills. Major flowers this week.

I've been off my bike all winter, I went for a 2km ride today, with a steep climb at the end. It was quite difficult, but felt good. Today's weather in Tokyo is cold and wet, the cherry blossoms are in the midst of blooming, a little late this year because of the cold.
From today I will ride a little more each day, I have a 2500 km ride in August, and I have four months to prepare. |

Just coming back from surgery, so only 12 miles.

27, and getting sick of being cold. Hopefully April will be warmer than Marchuary.

20 miles with 2000 ft of gain this eve. Some hill repeats with a little kicker at the end. :D

Due to a car failure. I've been comuting to work for the last few week. Today is the end of the first full week. 3.7x2 miles 5 days a week on a Schwinn Classic Crusier.. Averging around 17mins. Though putting "the hammer down" results in a bit of bouncing do to the Schwinns front spring.
http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/a...winn%20CC1.jpg Weekends are for distance on the Trek. Legs are recovering quicker it would seem. I may go fo the 40mile dam round trimp this weekend. Maybe push for a metric century. |

Very nice. I had my first real ride in on Wednesday. 14 miles with 850 ft of gain. That's pretty much dead flat to me. Love climbing and have a 15 mile loop with over 1300 feet myself right from the door.
Nice! I know plenty of Clydes avoid climbing. Not sure why, it's fun, challenging and builds character. :D |
26 miles, 1 hour 59 mins. 1321ft of gain.

107 miles overnight group ride. All gravel road.

Rode with my big thigh nephew who is half my age. What a thrill but he had to stop to wait for me. Great ride after all. |

Rode 37 miles on Sunday with a group of friends down in Pittsburgh. First real ride of the year. Last night after work I hit the roads at home. Started out with the feeling I needed a real hill. Halfway up the real hill, my legs said, too early. I had to stop right before the max of 19% to rest a moment. I've yet to walk a hill though, so after a couple minutes, I slugged past the 19% where normally it feels like the decrease to 10% feels flat again. Didn't feel flat last night. I suffered the whole way.
Time to put a few smaller hills under the legs before taking anything big again. Thank goodness I am going to be with my kids this Saturday because my buddy already hit me up with doing half of the Pittsburgh Dirty Dozen hills this weekend. Think I'll give it a few miles of hills yet before I tackle that. |
