Uncomfortable? It’s not supposed to be comfortable!

I had a daily low of 44 this year, but that’s rare for me. After four decades of endurance sports and heaven knows how much myocardial scarring, I’m happy it doesn’t get lower these days.

Velo, next Wed, I will be stopping by Knoxville on my way to Dallas. Not sure what time I’ll be arriving or what hotel I will be at yet, but I will have my Cervelo in the back of the mini van.

Not bringing the Madone?!?! Are we not worthy???

More scared I’ll crash again riding on roads that are not familiar. Plus that requires me to bring more stuff, and I don’t trust it to not get stolen by hotel staff.

I saw a resting rate of 48 today is that good or bad?

bampilot06 10-20-21 07:16 PM

According to apple my new VO2 max is 52.7. That doesn’t sound good.

Yeah, F that noise. Only time I’ve seen guys throw up is on the first or second day of basketball tryouts. Involuntarily. Baseball players wouldn’t even dream of it.

I ran competitively for many years and saw a few guys (no women) throw up and a few guys crap their shorts. On the bike, I know I’m balls to the wall when I feel like I might do all three things, but it’s never actually happened.

Im hoping to get in by like 5 pm ish. If you would be down I will ride. I’ll be heading out in the morning. Little rock will be the next stop.

If, and it's rather big if, you do get in by then, a ride is a possibility. Sadly you can't go beyond 7. :(

Let me know as plans become set. I live Cedar Bluff exit area. The ride I posted pictures on from the weekend is very accessible from the hotels there, if that's where you happen to stay. I don't know East Knoxville nearly as well for purposes of riding.

facing the evil empire could be problematic.

Sure, I post some graph action and everyone else is going to copy me.

That works, there’s a hampton inn right there, I can use my points. Now if I can just get started on time.

Yeah, and since the starting QB is probably out, and the next guy is the guy who did this, not much hope to cling to.

I get it. Especially the hotel part.

Seriously, we've got a lot of combined football watching here. Have you ever seen a QB step out of bounds like this on the last play of the game?

Isn't the line something like 62 points?

The Garmin, paired with your power meter and HRM, should be able to give you a better idea of VO2max than the watch, I would think. Low 50s is very good for a non-genetic freak.

My Fitbit is weird for resting heart rate, I don't get it. It'll usually indicate anywhere between 47-53 (it usually goes up and down with the amount of recent training stress)... but it's not unusual to see low 40s throughout the day, even if they peg my RHR at 52 :foo:

True in the sense of whether a wrist-worn gizmo can estimate VO2max accurately. The gold standard is measuring inhaled and exhaled gasses during exercise.

When I was a ute I did a race and a girl behind me threw up at the finish line. That's the only thing I remember from it.

Better than when they throw up in your car.

He could have at least tried a Hail Mary.
