Can you tell that Iíve been victimized but upper management incompetence as well? Gawd how I hate them.

The Fortune 100 company I worked for actually blackmailed managers to be strike breakers (scabs) or be terminated. I severely injured my back and was unable to lift more than 30 lbs but was forced to be a scab. Unbelievable

Yea they cut our development team, but increased the project load. It seems to be all the rage this year.

107 miles while enduring some annoying misty moiiistness.

Paul_P 06-10-24 12:42 PM

17 km, 55 minutes, third and longest ride in three days.
Considering I thought a running knee injuring a week and a half ago would prevent cycling for weeks if not longer, I'm in a very good mood.
Won't be running for a while, but I can live with that.

Rest/taper week - head to the Alps next week.

20 miles on my local MUP.

rsbob 06-10-24 08:18 PM

A wee bit of climbing

Most of the climbs were punchy climbs ranging from 7-14%. No long grades - but would sure enjoy one.

Thatís the spirit - another century in the bag! I wonder how many intersections you crossed to get it?

29 miles and 4300' of climbing today. I took a day off the bike yesterday, but spent it riding one of my dirtbikes and cutting windfall timber out of the trails...so not the ideal rest day.

Today's loop was a variation of my local climbing loop I managed to grab a PR on the 6.25ish mile climb at 7.1%. I was already 2nd OA on it...and I'm still 2nd, the KOM is actually a legitimate climber, so that one's probably out of reach. However, the top 2 miles of the climb is its own segment...and is only a 5.5% grade, so more manageable for this beefcake...I grabbed the KOM on that segment, by a pretty handy margin.

I started out pretty slow on the longer segment, at one point had a 50 second deficit to my previous PR, but reversed it to demolish it by 2 minutes. I averaged 320 watts for about 45 minutes on the longer segment, this leaves me some room for improvement on this climb.

Looks like a pretty healthy haul of some PRs.

no greenways were hurt in the miles making. Tubeless tires of 30 were used & for purposes kept unknown.

looks more impressive than actuality. I have only ridden those roads twice, but will take the meager win. Now if I can get a KOM for age group or overall, then it will be something.

BUT, I did hit the climbs hard - no PRs on those - and my Garmin suggested taking a whopping 50 hours off. No way, Jose.

WaveyGravey 06-11-24 04:36 PM

Today I rode 26 miles.

rsbob 06-11-24 08:33 PM

13 flat lazy miles with the better half. Garmin still is disapproving and says I need a day or two off. Damn computers.

Sierra_rider 06-11-24 08:40 PM

55 miles, 7200' today, average speed 14.4mph, and average power of 207 watts...in the form of an out-n-back route on 2 very difficult climbs at high elevation...first time doing this pass in a few years, PR's across the board and even some fairly competitive times on a few segments. The first climb is the harder one, 9 miles at a 7% average grade, the 2nd climb is 9.5 miles at 5.5%. The average grade doesn't tell the whole story of either climb...the first one is the more steady of the 2, but both have a profile of an elevated saw blade. Plenty of times that I was looking down at my Garmin's elevation profile and seeing 10-15% grades.

I ended up getting rained on the final descent...amazingly enough, I set a PR on the downhill, in the rain and despite stopping for a mudslide that had occurred sometime in the gap of me going past it. If it wasn't for stopping, I may have been able to snag a top 10 Strava time on it. If I was on my rim brake bike, there was definitely 1 turn that I would've overshot...but I didn't really feel like I was taking too many risks on the descent. I was just freezing cold and not wasting any time getting off the mountain.

I don't put a lot of faith in the Garmin info...basically I track my heart rate variability and resting HR overnight on the connect app, but that's it. This is what mine said this morning, before I rode 2 HC climbs...if I trained to what the Garmin Connect app says, I'd be rolling around in zone 1 all the time and take 2 days off for every 1 day ridden. It even contradicts itself on some stuff..."poor training readiness" yet "optimal acute load.":foo:

32 miles on the MUP with some friends.

Just a fun free ride - some slow bits, some fast bits, some messing around on the short steep climbs up the levee. No power meter, out on my old steel Lemond - just a fun free ride.

Just before the end of the trail we were passed by the local bike club paceline (it was the B+ group) going the other direction. My buddy challenged me to catch them so we could suck the draft back to our parking lot...

That lit my afterburners a bit - they had about 3/4 mile lead... I cranked it up to 24-25 mph and bridged the gap, dropped my buddy - then I figured I would just keep on going and dropped the paceline...

Finally - for the first time this year, I can actually feel the positive effects of my winter/spring training blocks.

Oh, and that old Lemond - it's a proper fast bike.

Hauled my old beater to out of town business trip and put in a few miles before day started.

Went to Bolsover and back, another ride with some steep climbs. This was a re-run of last Sunday, when I did the exact ride but totally bonked out on it, with an appallingly low average speed. I made the mistake of doing squats the day before, and my legs weren't recovered enough.
Today was much better given I ride a big heavy hybrid.

Distance: 20.63 miles
Moving Time: 1hr 31min 46 sec
Avg Speed: 13.5mph (better than the HORRIFIC number three days ago).
Max speed: 39.6mph

Troul 06-12-24 03:17 PM

76 Miles. temp swing from 49F start to 78F end. Mosquitoes were waiting with baited breath at any given stop. Damn those flying redcross workers!

Jughed 06-12-24 04:54 PM

28 miles on the MUP - easy pace.

Sierra_rider 06-12-24 09:59 PM

Not a ton of motivation today, but I did manage to get 12 miles and 1500' around my neighborhood today. Which is actually the perfect amount for the week, as I'm planning a hard ride with a friend on Friday...so I don't want the stress score to get too high too early. He can drop me on a lot of climbs, so I gotta be somewhat fresh for that ride.
I also managed to get a weight lifting session in this evening, so I feel like today was somewhat productive.

XxHaimBondxX 06-13-24 06:10 AM

Tour continues, 200 exhausting hwy miles later and now I'm in NYC. Not counting bike miles to conserve phone battery...
