impossible to change password

On my chromebook. I received a notification that my password has been compromised. Dozens of times I've changed it and the site simply will not accept the new one. I also need to change my email address. Same. I've tried changing both together, and separately. Zilch. I could try dozens more times with the same result. but that would be, as they say, insanity.

You'll want to make sure you're meeting the following requirements for your password:
  • Contain a capital letter
  • Contain a lowercase letter
  • Contain a number
  • Contain a symbol (!, $, @, etc)
  • Be at least 10 characters long

I did ll that and still no dice. It acts like it's changed, but defaults back to the old one which doesn't come close to fitting the requirements. It also tells me my new email address is already in use, all the while displaying the old one in the form. I would love it if it could be taken care of internally, because I don't believe it's possible for me to do it.

That sounds like your browser is keeping your old password cached.

And how would I go about un-cacheing it?

I went into settings and cleared everything. Browsing history, cache, saved passwords, form fill, everything. Then I rebooted. And I have the same problem. Perhaps it's just meant to be.

Ok. We tried it on my wife's computer. We managed to change the password there, but only by using her email address. Then I came back to my computer and successfully logged in with the new password.
