No riding, I too am dealing with a cold. I probably could ride, but there is no upside to pushing it. Besides, it gets me a chance to get some projects down around the house. Finished installing laminate flooring and baseboard in the master bedroom. Next on the agenda is to do the guest bedroom, aka the "trainer pain cave." The nasty 30 year old carpet has black grease spots all over it from excessively lubricated bike chain:lol:. I also need to do the flooring to get rid of the stack of it that is sitting in my sun room...I need that space back to establish my home gym.

I did 55km (about 24 miles) this morning. Weather was nice but a lot of wind. Filled up my bottle of water, but forgot to put it on my bike when I left home so made a stop at a gas station to buy some water.

Hey, you're shorting yourself a bit much on the ride you did. I also rode 55km this morning which works out to about 34.17 miles. Like you, I also forgot my frozen water bottle when I left this morning. Was sitting right where I left it when I got back.

43 fakers 2,300’ up. Watched a series on Netflix to keep my sanity

So finally feel human again, got my stitches removed from my hand today and did a short 5 mile inside ride with 800 ft of climbing to see how things feel. Discovered I needed to put some additional cushion under my hand as it is still really tender on the palm where I was cut into. The wrist actually feels pretty good and did not have much pain on it. Figure it will take another 2 or 3 weeks to heal fully.

23 fakers with 1K climb, 15.5 @ 200 Watts and cool down 7.5 @ 150 Watts. Fun stuff

Set off Thursday morning at a little before 7:00am for a 35 mile ride. Had a very good ride. It was a bit windy and the morning felt cool at 72F. It looks like "winter" is about to arrive.

Anybody ever fly like Superman? I did - minus the cape - on this morning's trail ride. It was a short flight .... over the handlebars :D ... but 9.7 points for style from the Latvian judges I'm sure. Pedal strike on a small hidden tree stump midway thru a fast righthander. Abrupt stop for the bike. Not so much for me. Landed on my left knee. Had ridden about 10 miles of singletrack up until that point. 2 more miles back to the parking lot. I think I'm going to be limping tomorrow. Crap.

Where in Thailand? And if you want to experience ‘cool’ come back to Redmond. But it was VERY unseasonably warm yesterday here at 52*F
I'll pass on the unseasonably warm Redmond weather. Today I put in 31 miles in very chilly and windy weather. Was 67F when I left at 7:00am and was up to 74F when I got back. Only supposed to get up to 83F today. Tomorrow will be quite cold at 63F and yes, the government does issue alerts when the temperatures dip like this. |

17 miles and the first ride in over five weeks. Overcast, misty, 50F. The trail was a slightly soggy mess. Just about perfect!

15 fakers. Walked the dog 2 miles in an absolute downpour and decided I had enough.
|
77 miles, most of it was dry (as it was predicted) .... but the few miles back it poured rain & started to sleet... so much for the predicted accuracy & staying dry in the 39*F~.

Beautiful! It was overcast and dreary here. If I had taken pictures today, I could have done black and white and you’d scarcely know the difference. Very thoughtful, introspective weather, I suppose.

A little longer than usual ride today as I did 44 miles but being a Saturday morning there was less traffic. Coldest start to the day at 63F since I have been here. It felt nice though. I also did a lap around the airport on the cycle track that is there. Very nice facility and the track is 23.5km around. Only bad thing was the strong headwinds when going either east or north.

32 and 1200’. Beautiful day and 42*. Almost hit 700 Watts on one climb. Thought I was only good for 650. Maybe improving?

Did 25 on the '84 Trek 770 I've been resurrecting. Downtube friction shifting wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. I think the modern ramped sprockets make it smoother - though harder to feel. The skinnier tires (700c x25) weren't horrible (I'm spoiled the ride of 26x1.5 slicks at 60-65 psi. on my usual ride.) I was really impressed with how fast the bike felt. Is it the bladed spokes in the radial laced wheels I wondered? Nope. It was the tailwind on the out section.
Anyway, nice to get outside, see some sunshine and maybe shake the last bit of the Covid out of me. |
Ho-Ho-Ho and Merry Christmas! I went out earlier this morning on Christmas Day and rode 36 miles. Great way to start the day.
