Sleepy Joe forgot to strap the helmet on.

I noticed that... not that the Secret Service are wearing helmets either.

Where is that killer dog, Major?

Well now. That answers one question about memory loss.

Wears a helmet, without doing up the retention step. So it's there purely for image purposes, hmm I wonder if there is theme here.

President Joe looks a bit more comfortable on his bike than this fellow:

If you try to chase George W. up a mountain bike trail, he will drop you like a bomb over Iraq:

Jimmy Carter rode a Rivendell. Of course he did:

Everyone is happy on a bike!

terrymorse 06-06-21 09:28 AM

It was Doctor Jill's 70th birthday ride.

First couple looks quite happy:

She's riding a Trek. My best guess is it's an FX1. I don't know what he's riding. Both have their helmet straps tightened, which probably makes the Ayn Rand acolyte who posted above sad.

rim brakes are the new thing !

tyrion 06-06-21 10:55 AM

Biden still uses rim brakes!!!! If I was president I'd get disc brakes. Hydraulics.

I think he's cross-chaining too. What a disastrous photo-op.

I think the agent behind him has meat slicers on his bike. :thumb:

Honestly, we get way too much political commentary (like the helmet strap bull____) on "normal" media. I totally don't need it on BF, especially when not corralled into whatever secret Dark Pedaling portion of BF exists for that function.

I do think the SS should tell him to put his (and their own) helmet on right (including proper strap tension) as part of their protection service. But it is not fricking politics.

You must have never used a modern chain.

Toadmeister 06-06-21 12:01 PM

Good for him. I hear biking is really great for people with Parkinson’s.

datlas 06-06-21 12:02 PM

Notice the fancy Biden Bidon??

Likewise toeclips. Good to be back in style.

Cross-chaining? Corn Pop is cowering in the bushes.

Looks like President Joe has a Trek FX, too; I can't tell the model. No clipless pedals/shoes, just using flats and joggers. And the reflectors are still on the wheels' spokes on both bikes!

I'll bet there's a gym in the White House with a stationary bicycle or two in it, but its always nice to get outdoors for a ride whenever possible.

No point closing the barn door after the horse has bolted

Time to remind a few people that the former guy couldn't drink from a bottle properly.
