And it just had a $49,000 service! Wonder what you get for $49K? Oil change, spark plugs? Talk to your insurance man before you buy.

Check the fluids too, probably.

A cyclist's dream?

The slowest Porsche ever made - 0 to 3 mph in 3.5 seconds, top speed of 8 mph, zero emissions, bike and rider powered.

It's important to keep your fluids topped up.

Someone told me a few years back it cost over $60K for a brake job on a McLaren Mercedes since the rotors are $12K each.

genejockey 04-19-22 08:46 AM

Above average day for me. Made a fortuitous choice at guess 2.

Wouldn't surprise me. The PCCB rotors on my 2015 Cayman GTS were $12,500 for the front axle and $10,900 for the rear axle.

Check out these costs for Bugatti service (note the $4,000 windshield wiper blades): Servicing And Maintaining A Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Can Allegedly Cost Nearly $500,000 Every Four Years | Carscoops

I'll make a note not to buy a used one....

The Veyron gets split in half for most common repairs and service. I think it stays intact for LOF's though. Who knows for a McLaren. 49K sounds about right for a "tune-up". :roflmao2:

That's about the amount of student loan debt I had after U. Penn undergrad and Pit Law.

Doing taxes last night (I know. SHUT UP!!) and trying to figure out how to enter something, so I checked last year's return, prepared by our CPA (who retired), and I discovered an error in it. A BIG error. In our favor. Turns out the same error is in the 2019 tax returns. This should result in a substantial refund. This was good news, because I had actually been expecting bad news on this year's taxes and the news wasn't bad at all. I blame the Pandemic, because we didn't do the usual meeting with the CPA but rather just dropped off forms.

What will surprise you is the knowledge of this windfall did NOT stir any interest in buying yet another bike. Components for current bikes, sure. Just no interest in another bike. I think my collection is complete. It was that way with watches, too. At some point, I found the last holdout, the final example that filled the last missing spot in my collection, according to my definition, and my interest in scouring Ebay for more watches instantly dropped right off.

Are the wipers diamond studded? Also: "Thus, the company suggests you should never jet wash the car, and only hand-clean it using the special equipment"

Good thing is that those rotors are good for 100,000 miles unless you track the car. I sold it well before that point.

You scoff at the hand wash, but that's all I do (except for the Jeep). I have a cabinet in my garage dedicated to detailing supplies.

Looks like winter there. Need exif data to make sure that picture was taken today.

I would have held up a copy of today's newspaper, to show the date. But I don't get a paper edition.

Even our Taco's get nice washes. No brushes will touch those things. Nothing beats the feel of a nicely polished vehicle. They're much faster too.
